Police to Conduct Selective Checks During Easter to Prevent Provocations

The National Police of Ukraine has announced enhanced security measures during the Easter holidays, emphasizing the importance of public safety and order, particularly in crowded areas.

The National Police of Ukraine, as it does every year during the Easter holidays, has announced an increase in security measures. National Police spokesperson Yulia Hirdvillis stated that the primary task of law enforcement is to ensure public order and safety, especially in places where large crowds gather, such as churches, streets, and highways.

Hirdvillis emphasized that police crews will be positioned as close as possible to the locations of worship services to respond promptly to any situations that may arise. She also mentioned that preventive measures, including selective surface checks, may be conducted if necessary. These measures will be implemented solely to prevent provocations and guarantee the safety of individuals.

In her statement, the spokesperson highlighted that under the conditions of martial law, the threat from the Russian Federation remains real and is not dependent on holidays or specific dates. Therefore, it is crucial for citizens to remain vigilant and cautious.

Hirdvillis urged people not to ignore air raid alerts and to adhere to established restrictions. She also stressed the need for citizens to assist police officers in fulfilling their duties, as the safety of each individual relies on collective efforts.

This information regarding the heightened security measures during Easter is significant, as the holidays are often accompanied by large gatherings of people, which could become potential targets for provocations. Law enforcement calls on the public to be attentive and to follow recommendations.

It is worth noting that recently, the Pope and the Ecumenical Patriarch have begun discussions about the idea of a joint Easter celebration. This reflects the importance of interfaith dialogue and unity during challenging times.
