Cold Snap in Ukraine: Frosts and Gradual Warming Ahead

Ukraine is currently experiencing a cold snap accompanied by frosts, but meteorologists predict that temperatures in some regions will begin to rise soon. This was reported by renowned meteorologist Ivan Semilyt in an interview with NV.

Ukraine is currently in the grip of a cold snap that has brought frosts across the country. However, meteorologists are optimistic about a gradual increase in temperatures in certain regions in the near future. This forecast was shared by well-known meteorologist Ivan Semilyt during an interview with the publication NV.

According to the weather forecast, on April 9, ground frosts are expected across Ukraine, with temperatures ranging from 0 to -3 degrees Celsius. The risk of frost will remain high during the night hours of April 10-11, although daytime temperatures are expected to rise slightly, ranging from +3 to +10 degrees Celsius throughout the country. The most comfortable temperatures are anticipated in the Transcarpathian region, where thermometers could reach as high as +14 degrees Celsius. On Easter Sunday, celebrated on April 12, some regions, particularly in the south and east of the country, may experience rain, while other parts of Ukraine will remain dry.

Semilyt also highlighted that, despite the nighttime frosts persisting in most regions between 0 and -3 degrees Celsius, temperatures in the south and southeast of the country could rise to between +1 and +6 degrees Celsius at night. During the day, temperatures in Ukraine are expected to warm up to between +7 and +14 degrees Celsius, providing some relief from the cold.

Focusing on the weather in Kyiv, Semilyt noted that the coldest day in the capital will be April 9, with temperatures not exceeding +1 to +3 degrees Celsius. However, by April 10-11, a trend towards gradual warming is anticipated, with daytime temperatures in Kyiv predicted to reach between +5 and +7 degrees Celsius. On Easter Sunday, April 12, the weather in the capital will mirror the overall national picture: nighttime frosts will persist, while daytime temperatures will rise to between +7 and +13 degrees Celsius.

Thus, Ukrainians can expect some warming after the cold days, although nighttime frosts will still be a concern. This situation poses certain challenges for farmers who must be prepared for temperature fluctuations, as well as for anyone planning to celebrate Easter outdoors.

Meteorologists urge Ukrainians to exercise caution when going outside at night, as frosts can create hazardous conditions on the roads. At the same time, with rising temperatures, spring weather may offer more opportunities for outdoor activities, which is particularly relevant during the festive season.
