Ukrainian Scouts in Paris Raise Funds for Military Aid Through Egg-Painting Workshops

In Paris, Ukrainian youth organization Plast France organized egg-painting workshops that successfully raised over 800 euros to support military personnel and children affected by the war. The event highlighted the vibrant Ukrainian community in the French capital.

Recently, Paris hosted a series of egg-painting workshops organized by the Ukrainian youth organization Plast France, which gathered more than 800 euros in funds aimed at aiding military personnel and children impacted by the ongoing war in Ukraine. According to a report by Ukrinform, the details were shared on the organization's Facebook page.

This year, over 50 participants joined the workshops, reflecting the active involvement of the Ukrainian community in Paris. The program was rich and diverse, allowing participants not only to learn the traditional art of egg painting but also to explore the technique of creating Lemko-style eggs for the first time. Organizers emphasized that such events are crucial for preserving Ukrainian national culture among those living abroad.

“These were days filled with warmth, sincerity, and true unity. It was incredibly touching to see familiar faces while also introducing this beauty to new participants!” shared the scouts, highlighting the importance of communal activities in strengthening community bonds and supporting cultural traditions.

All funds raised during the workshops will be directed towards two main initiatives: the first is to provide assistance to scouts currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front lines, and the second is to organize a special camp for children who have lost parents due to Russian aggression, run by the Knyahynia unit. This camp aims to serve as a place of rest and support for children who have experienced significant losses, helping them to make new friends and gain positive experiences.

The scouts expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this charitable initiative and expressed hope that the Easter workshops would become a cherished annual tradition in France. Such events not only facilitate fundraising but also strengthen the community of Ukrainians living abroad.

It is worth noting that a large exhibition of Easter eggs representing all regions of Ukraine was recently presented at Ukraine House in the capital of the United States. This collection spans decades of history, showcasing the art of the diaspora alongside examples from modern Ukraine, reflecting the richness and diversity of Ukrainian culture.
