Pilots of the 23rd Brigade Khortytsia of the National Guard of Ukraine Destroy Pantsir-S Air Defense System Behind Enemy Lines

On April 7, Tuesday, it became known that the pilots of the 23rd Brigade Khortytsia of the National Guard of Ukraine successfully executed an operation that resulted in the destruction of a Pantsir-S air defense system located deep behind Russian military lines. This information was shared by the military on their official Facebook account.

The report highlights that such systematic work by Ukrainian forces significantly reduces the capabilities of enemy air defense, which in turn weakens the combat potential of the adversary. The military emphasized that the elimination of such targets is crucial for enhancing the security of the region and its inhabitants.

According to preliminary information, the cost of the destroyed Pantsir-S system is approximately 15 million dollars. This indicates that Russian forces have incurred direct financial losses that cannot be quickly compensated. Thus, Ukrainian military actions not only strike at the enemy's military infrastructure but also create serious problems for its funding and supply.

This operation is part of a broader strategy by Ukrainian military forces aimed at destroying enemy assets that could pose a threat to Ukraine's security. On March 9 of this year, units of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, along with Special Operations Forces, also launched strikes on Russian military facilities in temporarily occupied Crimea. During that operation, three Pantsir-S1 air defense systems and a mobile fire group of the enemy were destroyed.

Additionally, Ukrainian forces targeted a BK-16 landing boat, facilities at the Kirovske airfield, and a storage site for Orion drones, destroying four of their control stations. These actions demonstrate the increasing effectiveness of Ukrainian forces in combat operations and their ability to inflict significant losses on the enemy.

It is important to note that successful operations like the destruction of the Pantsir-S air defense system not only enhance the combat capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine but also contribute to reducing the air threat to the civilian population.
