Arson at Arms Factory in Czech Republic: Four Accused File Complaint Against Detention
Four individuals accused of setting fire to an arms factory in the Czech Republic have filed a complaint regarding their detention. This information was reported by Ukrinform, citing the Czech news agency ČTK and District Court Judge Karel Hoberna.
Four individuals accused of arson at an arms factory in the Czech Republic have lodged a complaint against the decision to keep them in custody. This information was reported by Ukrinform, referencing details provided by the Czech news agency ČTK, which quoted Judge Karel Hoberna of the Pardubice District Court.
According to the reports, the last suspect taken into custody is a citizen from a non-European Union country. The Pardubice branch of the Regional Court, located in the city of Hradec Králové, is set to review the complaints regarding the detention without holding a court hearing. Judge Hoberna noted that a decision on this matter is expected in approximately one month.
“Since this involves a foreign national who has requested a written translation of the decision into a foreign language, the three-day period for filing a complaint begins from the day the translation is received. This translation has already been ordered, and its completion and submission to the court are expected next week,” added Hoberna.
In connection with the arson at the arms factory in Pardubice, a total of nine individuals have been detained, five of whom have been taken into custody. Another individual, a citizen of the United States, remains under investigation in Slovakia, and according to sources, her extradition to the Czech Republic is anticipated. Additionally, three suspects have been detained outside of the Czech Republic: two in Poland and one in Bulgaria.
As reported by Ukrinform, the fire at the industrial park near Pardubice occurred on March 20. Law enforcement agencies are considering four versions of the events that led to this incident.
Previously, in the case concerning the arson of the LPP Holding warehouse, which, among other things, produces drones for Ukraine, suspects who are citizens of the Czech Republic and the United States were detained in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia. An anti-Israel group claimed responsibility for the arson, which has sparked significant public outrage.
At the beginning of April, it was reported that two individuals were arrested in Poland as part of the investigation into the arson of the Czech arms company LPP Holding's warehouse located in Pardubice. On Saturday, April 4, Czech investigators charged another individual detained in Bulgaria in connection with the arson of the LPP Holding facility.
This incident has drawn considerable attention not only within the Czech Republic but also beyond its borders, as the arson of a warehouse where drones for Ukraine are manufactured has become the subject of an international investigation. The situation continues to develop, and law enforcement agencies are working to clarify all the circumstances surrounding the case.
