Russian Military Training Currently at Low Level, Especially Evident During Captures - Commander of Airborne Assault Troops

In a recent interview provided to Ukrinform, Major General Oleg Apostol, the Commander of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a Hero of Ukraine, expressed concern regarding the level of training of Russian military personnel. He noted that this decline in training is particularly noticeable when Ukrainian forces capture Russian soldiers and inquire about their preparation.

Major General Apostol emphasized that Russian troops are tasked with sending their soldiers into the 'furnace,' which can yield results in some cases. However, he pointed out that Ukrainian forces would never allow themselves to adopt such an approach. 'We operate based on training, while they operate based on numbers,' said the commander, highlighting the differences in strategies between the two armies.

According to Apostol, the enemy's training at this moment is 'very weak.' He cited an example where a group of Ukrainian soldiers, acting against an enemy group, was able to completely destroy them with minimal losses.
