As preparations for Easter begin, it's time to think about festive tables and tasty dishes. NV Food has compiled a selection of budget-friendly recipes that will make a wonderful addition to your holiday menu.

Preparations for Easter have already begun, signaling the time to consider the festive table and delicious dishes. NV Food has gathered a selection of budget-friendly recipes that will serve as excellent additions to your holiday menu. This year, believers of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) will celebrate Easter on April 12, while Catholics will observe it a week earlier, on April 5. Despite the challenging times we are experiencing, Easter should remain a celebration, and therefore NV Food offers recipes that will allow you not only to celebrate deliciously but also to save money.

The festive morning of Easter traditionally begins with decorated eggs and ready-made Easter cakes, which usually adorn the table. But what is missing for a tasty breakfast? Of course, it is the cheese Easter cake, which pairs wonderfully with coffee. Preparing this dish takes only 20 minutes. You can decorate it to your liking, using chocolate eggs and blueberries with mint, as demonstrated in a video shared by food blogger Olya on Instagram.

What dishes should be prepared for Easter? One of the key recipes will be an original cheese Easter cake that everyone will enjoy. It is covered in chocolate, and its center is tender, sweet, and silky. Easter cakes made using this recipe turn out fluffy, delicate, aromatic, and very tasty. After adding dried raisins, the dough should be kneaded well and placed into molds. Let it rise for one to one and a half hours, and then you can bake it – the choice is yours. Once the Easter cakes cool, you can optionally glaze them and decorate them as you wish.

Preparing Easter pastries is quite simple, and the result will surprise even the most discerning dessert connoisseurs. Another alternative to traditional meat dishes will be the Transcarpathian roll, known by names such as shoit, zeltz, or salceson. This dish features a multi-layered filling and a rich broth, and its name depends on the region of preparation. The secret to the roll's flavor lies in the combination of various parts of the pig and chicken hearts, which give the dish tenderness and texture. The recipe was shared by food blogger Myroslava Pekaryuk, a participant in MasterChef. The modern twist of the dish comes from the right balance of spices and the juiciness of the meat.

We also offer an alternative to classic sausage without meat and expensive ingredients – potato sausage. This is one of the traditional Ukrainian dishes that has long been prepared for festive occasions. It has a rustic charm and is a great example of the culinary ingenuity of our ancestors, who knew how to create delicious dishes from simple ingredients. Potato sausage was typically prepared in natural casings, which is a characteristic feature of homemade sausage products. It was often served as a hot dish or baked in the oven, which gave it a special aroma. Tasting such a snack, you will undoubtedly feel the flavor of Ukrainian authenticity and home warmth.

Among the simple and tasty side dishes, baked cabbage with aromatic oil stands out. This dish is very easy to prepare and serves as a great appetizer or side dish for any main course. Cabbage is an affordable local product that is always available on store shelves. When baked, cabbage retains many beneficial nutrients, allowing you to enjoy not only its flavor but also its health benefits. If you don't have time to wait for the cabbage to cook, a quick option will be a true jackpot for you.

Baked potatoes are another simple and delicious dish that will not disappoint. Whether boiled or fried, potatoes are good, but when baked, they become something special: with a crispy golden crust, a tender interior, and an aroma that evokes home comfort. This recipe is the kind of potato that suits any table, whether it's a quiet family evening or a festive dinner with friends. Butter, a pinch of spices, the oven – and a simple vegetable transforms into the star of the plate.

Canapés can also be a great option for the festive table. Due to high prices, not everyone can afford exquisite red fish or other delicacies for Easter. We suggest preparing festive canapés with improvised 'smoked salmon' – they can confidently replace the classic version and will disappear from the table in seconds. Carrots soaked in black tea become a wonderful alternative to smoked salmon and impress with their flavor. For a vegan version of the dish, use vegan cream cheese. Canapés are very easy to prepare, look elegant, and taste excellent. Aromatic, tasty, hearty, bright, and budget-friendly – these snacks will be a find for vegetarians and anyone who loves to eat well.

Don't forget about lard, which can be tastier than ham. It can be used for snacks and as a filling for sandwiches or canapés for the holiday. This method of salting will make the lard incredibly tender and aromatic. If you are looking for a delicious yet simple way to prepare salted lard with sugar, this is exactly what you need.

Festive salads should also not be overlooked. This festive and exceptionally beautiful salad is suitable for a luxurious holiday table. All your favorite ingredients, minimal preparation, and maximum flavor. The recipe was shared by food blogger Kinga Ziemba on Instagram. For decoration, use microgreens, which will give the dish a special appearance.
