Hellish Strikes on Russia: Defense Forces Hit 5 Strategic Plants and 10 Oil Refining Facilities in March

According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the March campaign has emerged as one of the most extensive in terms of the number of strategic enterprises affected within the territory of the Russian Federation.

As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the March campaign has become one of the largest in terms of the number of strategic enterprises affected within the territory of the Russian Federation. As a result of the operations conducted, 5 plants and 10 oil refining facilities were struck, which is part of a systematic effort to dismantle the enemy's war machine.

The Ministry of Defense provided detailed information about the most significant facilities that were struck throughout March, as well as their importance to Russia's military industry.

During the month, high-precision strikes targeted 5 strategic plants. Among them was the 'Kremniy El' plant in Bryansk, which is one of the largest microelectronics enterprises in Russia. The strike damaged the production building and the component storage, leading to a disruption in the supply of chips for the 'Iskander' missiles and air defense systems for up to six months.

The 'Aviastar' aircraft factory in Ulyanovsk also suffered damage, with the parking area and climate shelter affected, along with several Il-76 and Il-78 aircraft. This plant is a key facility for the production and maintenance of heavy transport aircraft that provide logistics for troops and refueling for strategic aviation in the air.

In the Stavropol region, the 123rd Aircraft Repair Plant in Stary Russa was hit, damaging the hangars for Il-76 aircraft and a strategic A-50 DRLO aircraft. This plant is a major center for aircraft repair in Russia, and its incapacitation could critically slow the restoration of the occupiers' air fleet.

The Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant in Alchevsk also came under fire, resulting in a massive fire at the facility. This enterprise is involved in the production of artillery shell casings and the manufacture and repair of armored steel for military equipment.

The 'Granite' Innovation Center in Sevastopol, the only service center for S-400 air defense systems in Crimea, was also struck. This complicates the operational repair of complex anti-aircraft missile systems on the peninsula, creating prolonged gaps in the air defense dome.

The oil refining sector and fuel and lubricants storage facilities also sustained serious hits. Long-range strikes on Russia in March halted a significant portion of Russia's oil exports in the Baltic. A total of 10 oil industry facilities were affected, including refineries, terminals, and ports.

Among the key facilities that were impacted are the 'Albashneft' and 'Afipsky' refineries, which are primary suppliers of diesel fuel for the southern grouping of Russian troops. The 'Kavkaz' port and the 'Sheskharis' fuel terminal in Novorossiysk, critical nodes for oil and fuel transshipment for the Black Sea Fleet, were also hit.

The 'Saratov' and 'Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim' refineries are giants in processing, providing the internal military reserve and stability of the fuel market in Russia. The strikes on the 'Kirishsky' and 'Yaroslavl' refineries, which are major sources of aviation fuel for airfields in the western and northern districts, will also have serious consequences.

Additionally, the strikes on the 'Transneft - Primorsk Port' and 'NOVATEK-Ust-Luga' terminals in the Baltic block foreign currency inflows from exports and halt energy logistics. Fourteen fuel and lubricants storage facilities, which ensure the operational refueling of tanks and armored personnel carriers before they head to positions, were also struck.

Throughout March, 12 S-300/S-400 series anti-aircraft missile systems were hit, depriving the enemy of the ability to control the airspace and protect its strategic rear areas. This creates significant gaps in the defense of entire regions of Russia.

Strikes were also carried out on 10 short- and medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems, including 'Tor', 'Tor-M1', 'Tor-M2U', 'Buk-M1/M2/M3', 'Pantsir-S1', and 'Tunguska'. In March, the Defense Forces also hit the patrol icebreaker 'Purga' at the Vyborg Shipyard, as well as the frigates 'Admiral Essen' and 'Admiral Makarov'.

Moreover, missile systems 'Iskander' and two 'Bastions', which were conducting terrorist strikes against civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, were targeted. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that Ukraine continues to systematically dismantle the Russian war machine as part of its War Plan, depriving the aggressor of resources for conducting war. Each new explosion at a strategic facility in Russia is a step towards exhausting the aggressor.

According to information from Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to April 2, 2023, amount to approximately 1,300,030 personnel, of which 1,300 were lost in the past day.
