Partners Provided Ukraine with Medical Humanitarian Aid Worth ₴31 Million in March - Ministry of Health

In March 2023, Ukraine received medical humanitarian assistance totaling 31 million hryvnias from international partners, according to a report released by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine (MOH) has announced that in March 2023, international partners provided medical humanitarian assistance to Ukraine amounting to a total of 31 million hryvnias. This information was disclosed in an official report from the MOH, which was shared with the Ukrinform news agency.

According to the data from the MOH, the aid came from the governments of Norway and Moldova, as well as from international organizations and pharmaceutical companies from countries such as the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark. These resources are aimed at ensuring the continuity of medical care, especially for patients suffering from injuries, chronic, and infectious diseases.

Specifically, the government of Moldova provided Ukraine with consumables and equipment necessary for delivering surgical and emergency care. In turn, the government of Norway donated 2,000 blood bags, which are a critical resource for medical facilities treating the wounded.

Additionally, partners ensured the supply of medications. The American humanitarian organization Direct Relief delivered medicines for treating allergic conditions, thyroid dysfunctions, and oncological diseases. One of the largest charitable organizations in Europe, Action medeor, provided oncology and anti-infective medications.

The international organization I+SOLUTIONS also contributed by supplying Ukraine with 4,560 tests for detecting tuberculosis infection, as well as a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent. Pharmaceutical companies provided medications used for treating neurological and mental disorders, along with a batch of drugs used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases.

A Danish company contributed by donating 1,050 hearing aids to assist patients with hearing impairments. The MOH emphasizes that such assistance significantly enhances the capacity of Ukraine's healthcare sector. These supplies are part of a systematic support effort for Ukraine from the international community, which is actively engaged in addressing the humanitarian issues arising from the war.

It is worth noting that representatives from the MOH of Ukraine and the organization Direct Relief recently discussed opportunities to strengthen collaboration in humanitarian support and the restoration of the healthcare system in Ukraine. These meetings highlight the importance of international assistance at a time when the Ukrainian healthcare system urgently requires support and restoration.
