Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, said Russian forces struck the regional capital, causing significant damage. The Russians struck the regional capital. There is major damage,” Fedorov said in an earlier update, later confirming one fatality. Officials initially reported three people injured, before revising the figure to five. By 20:10, the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Prosecutor’s Office said the number of injured had risen to eight. All those wounded are receiving medical assistance, authorities said. Earlier in the day, a separate Russian drone attack in the region injured a two-year-old boy and a 45-year-old man, and damaged residential buildings and infrastructure, officials added.
