Oleg Fedorchuk Confident That Serhiy Rebrov Will Not Leave His Post as Head Coach of Ukraine National Team

Oleg Fedorchuk, a well-known football expert, expressed his confidence that Serhiy Rebrov, the head coach of the Ukraine national team, has no intention of leaving his position prematurely. According to Fedorchuk, financial considerations play a crucial role in Rebrov's decision to stay.

Oleg Fedorchuk, a prominent football expert, has voiced his strong belief that Serhiy Rebrov, the head coach of the Ukraine national football team, is not planning to resign from his position anytime soon. Fedorchuk attributes this conviction primarily to financial factors that would prevent Rebrov from stepping down from his role.

In an interview with the publication UF, Fedorchuk stated, "What resignation? This matter is exclusively about money. If he leaves on his own, he will not receive any compensation, and his salary stands at $100,000 per month. Moreover, everyone understands who was behind Rebrov's invitation to the national team - Andriy Yermak," he added.

The expert also pointed out the recent changes in the leadership of the Office of the President of Ukraine, which could impact the situation regarding the coach. "Now the head of the Office of the President has changed. I don't think Kyrylo Budanov is currently concerned about who will lead the national team," he remarked.

Fedorchuk emphasized that Rebrov comes from a modest background in Horlivka and thus values financial stability. "Therefore, he will cling to his contract until the very end, as he still has a few months left during which he can earn his hundreds of thousands of dollars," the expert explained.

He also noted that the issue at hand is not about honor but strictly about financial matters: "This is not about honor; it’s about the bank account. I do not judge him, but it’s all about the money," Fedorchuk concluded.

It is worth recalling that the Ukraine national team recently suffered a defeat against Sweden, with a score of 1-3 in the semi-finals of the playoff qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, significantly complicating Ukraine's chances of qualifying for the tournament. Meanwhile, the Swedes went on to defeat Poland 3-2 in the final, securing their spot in the World Cup.

Despite the setback in the qualifiers, the Ukraine national team managed to play a friendly match, where they achieved a victory over Albania with a score of 1-0. This success could serve as a positive moment for the team amidst the overall challenges they face.

Earlier reports also indicated that Serhiy Rebrov expressed his desire to remain as the head coach of the Ukraine national team and is willing to accept a salary reduction, demonstrating his commitment to the team and his eagerness to work on improving their results.
