Occupants Begin Using New Satellite Communication Terminals, First One Destroyed – Defense Minister's Advisor
Ukrainian Defense Minister's advisor, Serhiy Beskrestnov, known by the pseudonym Flash, announced the destruction of the first satellite communication terminal 'Spirit-030' actively used by Russian troops after Ukrainian forces blocked their access to the Starlink satellite communication system.
Ukrainian Defense Minister's advisor, Serhiy Beskrestnov, known by the pseudonym Flash, has revealed that the first satellite communication terminal 'Spirit-030' has been destroyed. This terminal was reportedly being used extensively by Russian forces following the blockade of their access to the Starlink satellite communication system by Ukrainian troops. The incident underscores the heightened importance of satellite communication for Russian military operations after losing access to Starlink.
In a message published on Telegram on Sunday, Beskrestnov pointed out that existing Russian satellite internet terminals are equipped with large antennas that are easily detectable and can be destroyed by Ukrainian forces. To circumvent this issue, new portable satellite terminals, the 'Spirit-030', have begun to be supplied to the front lines. According to the advisor, these terminals operate with a specialized geostationary communication satellite, allowing for a reduction in antenna diameter from 90 centimeters to just 30.
Beskrestnov emphasized that the Russian occupiers have started to mass supply these terminals to the front, indicating their readiness to adapt to the evolving conditions of warfare. He also noted that pilots from the 414th Special Purpose Brigade 'Birds of Madyar' were the first to detect and destroy one of these satellite communication terminals. This event confirms the effectiveness of Ukrainian forces in identifying and eliminating enemy technologies.
It is crucial to highlight that in the context of modern warfare, satellite communication is a critical element for coordinating military unit actions. The loss of access to Starlink has compelled Russian troops to seek alternative solutions, which in turn creates new opportunities for Ukrainian forces. Beskrestnov urged all pilots to pay attention to new targets, as the destruction of such terminals could significantly impact the enemy's ability to manage their troops.
This situation underscores the importance of technological progress in contemporary warfare and the necessity for constant monitoring of new threats posed by the adversary. Ukrainian military forces continue to adapt to changes in enemy tactics, enabling them to maintain an advantage on the battlefield. In an era where information warfare and technological innovations are becoming increasingly vital, news such as the destruction of 'Spirit-030' terminals represents significant victories for Ukrainian forces.
