Occupants Attack Civilian Vehicle in Nikopol, Man Killed, Woman in Critical Condition – Regional Administration
A tragic incident in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, unfolded when Russian occupiers struck a civilian vehicle, resulting in one death and serious injuries to another. This was reported by Mykola Lukashuk, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
In the city of Nikopol, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, a tragic incident occurred when Russian occupiers launched an attack on a civilian vehicle, leading to the death of one individual and severe injuries to another. Mykola Lukashuk, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported that the terror faced by Nikopol continues unabated.
Lukashuk confirmed that the deceased was a man, while a 60-year-old woman is currently in critical condition. In his message on Telegram, he emphasized that Russian forces again targeted a civilian transport vehicle using an FPV drone, killing innocent residents on Palm Sunday, which is particularly heinous.
Additionally, as a result of this strike, four private homes, five outbuildings, a multi-storey residential building, a kindergarten, a store building, a greenhouse, and a gas pipeline were damaged. These destructions highlight the scale of the attack and its consequences for local residents.
This incident is not an isolated case. Just the day before, on April 4, at approximately 9:50 AM, Russian occupiers struck a market in Nikopol using unmanned aerial vehicles. This attack resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including a 14-year-old girl, while another 21 people sustained injuries. Among the injured were two men who were affected by a subsequent strike on the same market.
The damage inflicted by these attacks has impacted not only the people but also the infrastructure of the city. Commercial premises have suffered significant destruction, complicating the lives of local residents who are already suffering from the consequences of the war.
In light of these events, a criminal proceeding has been initiated regarding the war crime, in accordance with Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This underscores the seriousness of the situation and the intent of the Ukrainian authorities to hold accountable those responsible for crimes against humanity.
It is important to note that attacks on civilian objects, such as markets and vehicles, are part of a broader strategy of terror employed by Russian forces in Ukraine. Such actions provoke outrage among the international community and demand decisive action from world leaders to protect civilians in conflict zones.
