Obukhiv Paper Mill Suspends Operations Following Russian Drone Strike

The Obukhiv Paper Mill, one of Ukraine's leading producers of paper products, has announced a temporary suspension of its operations due to a drone strike carried out by the Russian Federation. The information was disclosed by the mill's press service on its official Facebook page.

The Obukhiv Paper Mill, a prominent manufacturer of paper goods in Ukraine, has officially declared a halt to its operations following a drone attack attributed to the Russian Federation. According to reports from Ukrinform, this announcement was made public by the mill's press service on its official Facebook page.

In a bid to ensure the safety of its employees and to address the aftermath of the attack, the production process at the facility has been temporarily suspended. This decision was deemed necessary to protect personnel, assess the damage inflicted, and facilitate the eventual resumption of operations at the mill.

In their statement, representatives of the mill emphasized that the enterprise is solely engaged in the production of consumer goods for the public. They stressed that they are in no way connected to military infrastructure, defense industry facilities, or military contracts. According to them, an attack on such facilities constitutes an assault on civilian industry, which meets the basic everyday needs of ordinary Ukrainians.

The suspension of operations at the mill has raised significant concerns regarding the stability of supplies of goods that are used daily in thousands of households across Ukraine. This particularly pertains to the uninterrupted production of paper products, such as the classic 'Obukhiv 65', the 'Divo' product line, as well as other sanitary-hygienic items and corrugated packaging.

The safety of employees remains a top priority for the management of the mill. They assured that relevant authorities are continuously monitoring the situation and expressed hope for a swift resumption of operations. The management conveyed confidence that the Kyiv Corrugated Paper Mill would soon return to full operation to continue providing consumers with high-quality and essential products.

It is worth noting that on April 3, following a massive Russian attack in the Kyiv region, the number of casualties rose to eight individuals, including a child. Additionally, one person lost their life as a result of this assault. These events underscore the critical importance of protecting civilian objects and the necessity of ensuring the safety of the population amid the ongoing war.
