Tractor Imports in Ukraine Increased in the First Quarter of 2026

In the first quarter of 2026, the value of tractor imports in Ukraine rose by 0.7% compared to the same period in 2025, reaching a total of $209.3 million, according to data released by Interfax Ukraine, citing the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

The United States emerged as the leading supplier of tractors to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2026, accounting for 22% of the total imports of this machinery, which translates to $46.1 million. Germany ranked second, contributing 20% or $42 million, while China secured the third position with a share of 19.3%, equivalent to $40.5 million. In the first quarter of 2025, the United States was also the top importer, supplying tractors worth $51.1 million, followed by China with $35 million and Germany in third place with $33.8 million.

During the period from January to March 2026, Ukraine exported tractors worth a total of $2.4 million, primarily to Belgium, which received 26.6% of the total export volume. In comparison, tractor exports in 2025 amounted to only $1.28 million, with Romania being the main destination, receiving 33.6% of the total exports.

It is noteworthy that the volume of tractor imports in Ukraine in 2025 increased by 7.9% compared to 2024, reaching $845.7 million. In 2025, the main supplying countries for tractors remained the United States, which accounted for 21.2% of the total imports, amounting to $179.7 million. Germany held the second position with a share of 17.1% or $145 million, while China came in third with 16.9% or $142.8 million.

The volume of tractor imports in Ukraine in 2024 was nearly $784 million, which represented a 5.6% decrease compared to 2023. Tractor exports in 2024 totaled $5.44 million, showing a slight decline compared to $5.74 million in 2023.

These figures indicate a stable demand for agricultural machinery in Ukraine, despite the challenges faced by the agricultural sector. The increase in tractor imports may suggest a resurgence of investments in agriculture and modernization of the technical resources available to farmers.
