New Supreme Leader of Iran Unconscious in Hospital - The Times

According to reports from the Ukrinform agency, Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is in critical condition at a hospital in the central city of Qom. This information is relayed by the British publication The Times, citing a diplomatic note based on data from American and Israeli intelligence.

The document, which was shared with allies in the Gulf states, indicates that Mojtaba Khamenei is being treated for a 'serious' illness and is currently unable to participate in any decisions related to the regime. This situation raises concerns among political circles in Iran, as his health condition could significantly impact the stability of power in the country.

For the first time, the document specifies the location of the younger Khamenei—Qom, which is situated approximately 140 kilometers south of Tehran. It is believed that the information regarding his whereabouts has been known to U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies for some time; however, it had not been publicly disclosed until now.

Despite Mojtaba Khamenei being appointed as the successor to his father in early March, he has yet to be seen in public, raising further questions about his ability to fulfill the duties of Supreme Leader.

Additionally, the document states that preparations are underway for the burial of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Qom. This indicates that the country is undergoing a challenging period associated with the transition of Supreme Leadership, which could lead to political instability.

It is worth noting that on February 28, the United States and Israel conducted joint strikes on Iranian regime facilities. In response, Iran launched attacks on American military bases located in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan. Subsequently, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) confirmed that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, passed away on the morning of February 28. This marks a significant milestone in Iran's history, as Khamenei had been one of the key political figures in the country for many years.
