Netanyahu: Israel Supports Trump's Decision to Suspend Strikes on Iran for Two Weeks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly expressed his backing for U.S. President Donald Trump's recent decision to halt military strikes against Iran for a duration of two weeks. This endorsement was articulated in a statement released by Netanyahu's office, which came shortly after Trump announced the suspension, highlighting the Israeli government's prompt reaction to changes in the international political landscape.

In the statement, Netanyahu's office emphasized that the ceasefire between the United States and Iran does not extend to Lebanon, despite assurances from Pakistani intermediaries who claimed otherwise. This stance suggests that Israel remains vigilant regarding the security of its borders and potential threats from Lebanese factions, particularly Hezbollah, which has been a longstanding concern for Israeli defense.

"Israel supports President Trump's decision to suspend strikes on Iran for two weeks, provided that Iran immediately opens its waterways and ceases all attacks on the U.S., Israel, and countries in the region," Netanyahu's statement read.
