According to a statement released by his family and reported by CBC News, Sisler passed away from 'natural causes' in his home located in Fort Erie, Ontario. At the time of his death, he was just ten days shy of celebrating his 111th birthday.

Born on April 13, 1915, in Ohio, USA, Bart Sisler's family made the decision to emigrate to Canada in 1918, where he would go on to spend the majority of his life. His journey from the United States to Canada marked the beginning of a long and eventful life that would span over a century.

At the time of celebrating his 110th birthday, Bart was surrounded by an impressive family legacy, which included five children, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. His wife, May, passed away in 1985, leaving him with a vast family heritage that he cherished deeply.

Bart Sisler's life was marked by significant historical events, including his experiences during both World Wars. He married just days before Britain declared war on Germany in 1939.
