National Police on Easter Holiday Safety: Operating in Enhanced Mode as Every Year

The National Police of Ukraine has announced its readiness to operate in an enhanced mode during the Easter holidays, as it does every year. Police crews will be stationed closer to places of worship, and surface checks may be conducted to prevent potential provocations if necessary.

The National Police of Ukraine has officially communicated its preparedness to work in an enhanced mode during the upcoming Easter holidays, a practice that has become customary in recent years. Police officers will be strategically positioned near locations where religious services are held, ensuring a visible presence to enhance public safety. In addition, should the situation demand it, the police may carry out surface checks aimed at preventing any potential provocations.

In a statement to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency, National Police spokesperson Yulia Hirdvylis emphasized, "The National Police, as in previous years, will operate in an enhanced mode during the Easter holidays. Our primary task is to ensure public order and the safety of citizens in areas with large gatherings, especially near churches, on streets, and along highways."

Hirdvylis further elaborated that police forces will be positioned as closely as possible to the sites where religious services are taking place. She stated, "Preventive measures may be undertaken if necessary, including selective surface checks, solely to prevent provocations and guarantee the safety of individuals."

The spokesperson also highlighted the ongoing threat posed by the current state of war, which remains a reality regardless of holidays or specific dates. "Therefore, we urge citizens not to ignore air raid alerts, adhere to established restrictions, and assist police officers in fulfilling their duties," she added.

Hirdvylis stressed the importance of vigilance among Ukrainians during this period. "If you notice suspicious items—such as abandoned bags, backpacks, or suitcases—please report such findings to the number 102," she urged, reinforcing the need for public cooperation in maintaining safety.

This initiative by the police is part of broader security measures being implemented across Ukraine in light of heightened threats. Authorities are calling on citizens to remain aware and cautious, particularly during festive events when large crowds can create additional risks.

The National Police continues its efforts to ensure peace and order during the Easter holidays, taking into account all potential threats that may arise in the context of the current security situation in the country. The proactive approach aims to foster a safe environment for all citizens as they participate in traditional celebrations.
