National Museum of History of Ukraine Unveils April Program: Lectures, Exhibitions, and Events for Children and Adults

The National Museum of History of Ukraine, located at 2 Volodymyrska Street, has presented an extensive program of events and exhibitions for April, which includes a range of activities for both children and adults.

The National Museum of History of Ukraine, situated at 2 Volodymyrska Street, has unveiled a comprehensive program of events and exhibitions for the month of April. This program encompasses not only the main building of the museum but also its branch, the Treasury, located within the National Reserve 'Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra', according to information provided by the museum's press service.

In the museum's announcement, it states: 'Visit 18 exhibitions at the museum and 3 exhibitions at our branch, the Treasury.' The April program features a variety of events, including lectures, themed tours, book presentations, round tables, workshops on egg painting, children's quests, and interactive programs. The museum pays special attention to events dedicated to the tradition of egg painting, Christian symbolism, archaeology, the history of Kyiv, Ukrainian cultural heritage, and the memory of the Chernobyl disaster.

Specifically, on April 4, Saturday, at 1:00 PM, there will be a lecture by Ivan Zotsenko titled 'The Egg as a Symbol of Life, Rebirth, and Eternity: Materials from Archaeological Research in Ukraine.' Concurrently with the lecture, an interactive program 'Feather, Ink, and Paper' is planned for children aged 8-13. At 4:00 PM, there will be a weekend tour titled 'Kyiv in the 10th-13th Centuries' for children aged 8 and older, as well as adults.

On Sunday, April 5, at 1:00 PM, a lecture by Zoia Stashuk will take place on 'The Origins of Museum Collections of Egg Paintings: Scholars and Collectors of the Late 19th Century,' followed by a workshop on egg painting at 3:00 PM. Both events require prior registration.

On April 6, Monday, the museum announced a book presentation of 'Slavik. The Museum in the Basement,' starting at 3:00 PM. On April 8, Wednesday, at 3:00 PM, there will be a lecture by Archpriest Mykhailo Almes on 'The Evangelical Dimension of the Resurrection of Christ,' dedicated to the spiritual and theological understanding of the theme of Resurrection.

On April 10, Friday, at 3:00 PM, Alina Sushko will deliver a lecture titled 'The Phenomenon of Glazed Ceramic Eggs in the Material Culture of Rus in the 11th-13th Centuries,' which will explore an intriguing aspect of medieval material culture.

The program on April 11, Saturday, will be particularly eventful. At 1:00 PM, an interactive quest tour titled 'The Archaeologist's Message' will commence, alongside a round table discussion 'Egg Painting as a Living Tradition of Intangible Cultural Heritage.' A workshop on egg painting will take place at 3:00 PM, followed by a tour of the exhibition 'Who is Like God?: The Image of Archangel Michael in National History and Culture' at 4:00 PM.

On April 18, Saturday, at 1:00 PM, the museum will host a children's program 'Workshop of Ancient Symbols,' along with a book presentation titled 'The First Energy: The War Russia Lost Before the Invasion.' At 4:00 PM that same day, there will be a tour of the exhibition 'Europe and Ukraine: A Dialogue Through the Ages.'

On April 25, Saturday, at 1:00 PM, a children's quest 'Gifts of the Gods' will be held for children aged 7 to 12. On the same day, an event commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster will feature a meeting with participants of the events, liquidators Mykola Hrytsenko and Leonid Hrytsenko. At 4:00 PM, the museum will organize a tour of the exhibition 'We Have the Right!'

Additionally, the museum announced that on April 29, Wednesday, there will be a free admission day for visitors to the National Museum of History of Ukraine and its branch, the Treasury.

The branch of the museum, the Treasury of the National Museum of History of Ukraine, located at 9 Ivana Mazepy Street, Building 12, within the National Reserve 'Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra,' has also announced a separate program for April.

On April 4, Saturday, at 1:00 PM, the Treasury will host 'A Day of Unhurried Art.' On April 5, Sunday, at 1:00 PM, an interactive tour 'Mission: Save the Treasures' is planned for children aged 6 to 8, followed by a tour of the exhibition 'Saved in Ukraine' at 4:00 PM.

On April 19, Sunday, at 1:00 PM, a quest 'Hide and Seek' for children aged 13 to 15 will take place at the Treasury, followed by a tour of the exhibition 'MİRAS. Heritage' at 4:00 PM.

On April 23, Thursday, the opening of the exhibition 'The Precious Heritage of Cossack Ukraine' is announced, and on April 26, Sunday, at 4:00 PM, there will be a tour of the exhibition 'Treasures of Crimea. Return.'

In addition to special events, visitors can access 18 exhibitions at the National Museum of History of Ukraine and 3 exhibitions at its branch daily. Admission to the exhibitions is included with a museum ticket: 200 UAH, and for schoolchildren, students, and pensioners — 100 UAH. Exhibitions can be viewed daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the ticket office operating until 5:00 PM.
