Speaking on the sidelines of the Kyiv Security Forum, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone said the program continues to function as planned and that deliveries are ongoing, Ukrinform reported. Follow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official . The PURL program is a joint US-NATO mechanism designed to speed up deliveries of American-made weapons and equipment to Ukraine. Partner countries fund purchases based on Ukraine’s priority needs, with contributions pooled through a NATO-managed fund . “PURL works. There are no signs of a decrease in effort,” Dragone told journalists. “Countries pay for weapons systems for Ukraine supplied to the United States. They are already here, or on their way to Ukraine. The flow continues.” In related remarks, the head of the EU Military Committee, General Sean Clancy, said he and his NATO counterpart discussed Ukraine’s current priorities with Oleksandr Syrsky , Commander‑in‑Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine . The comments come amid US President Donald Trump threatening to halt weapons deliveries to Ukraine while urging European allies to join a coalition aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz. US Vice President JD Vance has publicly backed shifting the financial burden of arms purchases to Europe. During a visit to the Netherlands, President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to such comments by stressing that continued access to critical US-supplied systems remains essential for Ukraine’s defense. Trump has repeatedly framed Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine as Europe’s responsibility while criticizing allies for not doing more to support US operations against Iran . Despite political debate in Washington, NATO officials said there is currently no disruption to weapons deliveries under the PURL mechanism.
