Next Step in Peace Talks with Iran - Vance

U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance expressed satisfaction with the current state of peace negotiations with Iran, emphasizing the need for the Iranian government to take the next step in the process.

According to a report by Ukrinform correspondent, U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance, who leads the American negotiating delegation, expressed satisfaction with the current state of peace negotiations with Iran. He made this statement in a comment to Reuters, highlighting that the U.S. President has secured a beneficial agreement for the American people, but it is now up to the Iranian government to make the next move in the negotiations. 'I am pleased with where we are right now. The President has made a good deal for the American people, but it is up to the Iranians to take the next step, or the President has many options to return to war,' Vance noted.

Vance emphasized that the U.S. position in future negotiations is very strong. 'There is still much to be done; within these negotiations, the Iranians will have to agree to many conditions, but our position is strong, and we will utilize it appropriately,' he added, pointing to the importance of continued work within the negotiation process.

The Vice President also drew attention to the fact that Tehran initially believed that the ceasefire conditions extended to Lebanon, but the U.S. did not agree to this. 'In my opinion, this is a genuine misunderstanding. The Iranians probably thought that the ceasefire applied to Lebanon, but we never promised that,' he stressed, underscoring that the U.S. position has always been that the truce would only pertain to Iran and its allies, including Israel and the Gulf states.

It is worth recalling that earlier, the White House confirmed that President Donald Trump is sending Vice President Jay D. Vance and other leading negotiators to Pakistan for talks with Iran this weekend. These negotiations represent an important step in the context of international policy and stability in the region.

The negotiations between the U.S. and Iran are drawing significant interest from the global community, as the outcomes could substantially impact the geopolitical situation in the Middle East. Given the tensions in relations between the countries, it is crucial for both sides to find common ground and reach a compromise that will help avoid further escalation of the conflict.

It should be noted that the peace negotiations with Iran are taking place against a backdrop of numerous challenges faced by the global community, including security issues, terrorism, and regional stability. Therefore, the role of the U.S. in these negotiations is extremely important, and the results could have far-reaching consequences for international relations.
