Ukrainian Security Service and Defense Forces Strike Oil Terminal in Novorossiysk - Source

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Defense Forces have successfully targeted an oil terminal in the Novorossiysk port, one of the largest oil and petroleum product transshipment complexes in southern Russia, which plays a crucial role in supplying fuel to Russian military groups engaged in combat against Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Defense Forces have launched a significant strike against the oil terminal located in the Novorossiysk port, recognized as one of the largest complexes for the transshipment of oil and petroleum products in southern Russia. This terminal is vital for supplying fuel to Russian military units that are actively engaged in combat operations against Ukraine.

According to information obtained from sources within the SBU, the strike resulted in damage to six out of seven oil loading stands utilized for the loading and unloading of oil from tankers. Additionally, hits were recorded on the terminal's ground infrastructure, including a key block of the pipeline system and an oil accounting node. These impacts led to large-scale fires, complicating the situation at the terminal.

“The SBU is consistently working to diminish the military, economic, and logistical capabilities of the enemy. Such operations will continue until Russia ceases its aggression against Ukraine. Each strike of this nature undermines the enemy's ability to finance the war and supply its troops with resources,” stated a source within the SBU.

The “Sheskharis” terminal in the Novorossiysk port stands as one of the largest oil and petroleum product transshipment complexes in southern Russia. It provides fuel for Russian units engaged in combat against Ukraine, making it a strategically significant target for Russian military operations. It is known that the terminal plays a key role in supplying fuel to Russian forces, thus strikes against it can significantly impact the logistics and supply chains of the aggressor's army.

Earlier reports indicated that the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted strikes on several critical facilities within Russia and in temporarily occupied Crimea during the night of April 5. These actions are part of a large-scale operation aimed at dismantling the enemy's military capabilities and reducing its ability to conduct combat operations.

In the context of the ongoing war, every detail that can influence the course of combat operations is crucial. Strikes on critical infrastructure, such as oil terminals, underscore Ukraine's determination in its fight for independence and territorial integrity. Simultaneously, these operations demonstrate the capability of Ukrainian forces to plan and execute complex military tasks.
