Damage to 816 Objects Recorded in Vinnytsia Region During Full-Scale Invasion
Despite the absence of direct combat, the Vinnytsia region continues to face missile and drone attacks from enemy forces. As of April 1, 2023, a total of 816 objects have been reported damaged in the area.
In the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine, despite the absence of direct combat, the area remains under threat from missile and drone attacks by enemy forces. As of April 1, 2023, a total of 816 objects have been documented as damaged within the territory of Vinnytsia. According to Serhiy Zabolotny, the head of the regional military administration, the most significant destruction occurred in the Vinnytsia district, where 368 objects were impacted.
Zabolotny highlighted that the majority of the damage was inflicted on residential properties, with 646 objects reported as affected. Among these, there are 136 apartment buildings and 503 private homes, in addition to seven dormitories. This alarming trend indicates that civilian structures, particularly housing, have become targets for enemy attacks, raising concerns among the local population.
In addition to residential buildings, other vital facilities in the region have also suffered damage. Specifically, four cultural institutions, 30 educational facilities, and 11 healthcare establishments have been affected. This illustrates that the enemy's attacks not only harm infrastructure but also have a detrimental impact on the social fabric of the region.
Industrial sectors have not been spared either, with 16 business entities reporting damage, along with 35 energy infrastructure facilities. Furthermore, 46 railway objects and two airport facilities have also been hit. This creates additional challenges for maintaining transportation links and ensuring energy security in the region.
Overall, the registry of damaged and destroyed property has received 2,517 reports concerning damaged or destroyed assets. Of these, 447 reports have been classified as 'unable to be processed' due to erroneous submissions, lack of complete information, or because the destruction or damage was not a result of actions by the Russian Federation. Nearly 1,100 reports are still awaiting processing, while 976 reports are linked to specific objects.
It is noteworthy that as a result of these events, 1,398 new objects have been created, including 703 buildings, 676 premises, and 19 structures. This indicates that despite the destruction, recovery and construction of new facilities are ongoing in the region.
It is important to remember that on March 24, the enemy launched a massive drone attack on Vinnytsia. As a result of these attacks, one person was killed, and 20 others were injured in the regional center. In three communities within the region, 84 households were damaged, with 71 of those located in the city of Vinnytsia. These events underscore the serious threats facing the region and the urgent need for support and protection of the civilian population.
