Military Tax Revenues in Vinnytsia Region Surge by One Third
The Vinnytsia region has reported a significant increase in military tax revenues, exceeding 1.2 billion hryvnias in the first quarter of 2026, according to the press center of the State Tax Service of Ukraine.
In the Vinnytsia region, there has been a remarkable increase in revenues from military tax payments, totaling over 1.2 billion hryvnias in the first quarter of 2026. This information was disclosed by the press center of the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service of Ukraine in the Vinnytsia region, which was reported by Ukrinform.
According to data released by the tax service, compared to the same period last year, the contributions of Vinnytsia residents to support the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian army have risen by one third, amounting to over 301.7 million hryvnias. This indicates the active participation of citizens in financing the country's defense needs amid the ongoing war.
Additionally, it was noted that total revenues to the consolidated budget of Vinnytsia in the first quarter of 2026 also showed positive dynamics. They increased by 21.8% compared to the same period in 2025, reaching over 11.88 billion hryvnias. This reflects the stable economic development of the region, despite the challenging conditions associated with the war.
It is important to highlight that the military tax is a vital source of funding for the Ukrainian army, which continues to fight for the country's independence and territorial integrity. Support from the population in the form of this tax payment is critically important for ensuring the necessary resources for military formations.
Experts believe that the increase in military tax revenues may be linked to a heightened awareness among citizens regarding the importance of financial support for the army, as well as improvements in the economic situation in the region. This may indicate that businesses and the population are more willing to invest in the common cause of defending the country.
It is worth recalling that the military tax was introduced in Ukraine back in 2014, and since then it has become an important tool for securing funding for defense expenditures. Since the onset of the war with Russia, its significance has only grown, as the country requires substantial resources to counter aggression.
