Tragic Incident in Rivne Region: Three-Year-Old Drowns, Search Continues for Another Boy
A heartbreaking incident has shaken the local community in the Rivne region of Ukraine, where a three-year-old boy has drowned and the search continues for his four-year-old brother.
In the Rivne region, specifically in the village of Kolky, a tragic event has occurred that has deeply affected the local community. According to information released on the official Telegram page of the Rivne Police, on April 5 at approximately 7:00 PM, a 35-year-old woman, a resident of the village, contacted law enforcement with a distressing report. She informed them that her nephews, a three-year-old and a four-year-old boy, had gone out to ride their bicycles around 3:00 PM and had not returned home.
Unfortunately, during the search efforts in a nearby body of water, law enforcement officials discovered the body of the three-year-old boy. This news has dealt a devastating blow to the family and the local residents. The search for the four-year-old, named Dmytro, who is also missing, is ongoing. Police, rescuers, and concerned citizens, including family members and neighbors, have joined forces to locate the child.
According to reports, specialized search groups have been deployed, consisting of police officers, a canine unit with a service dog, rescuers, border guards, and volunteers from the local community. They have been actively surveying the area surrounding the water where the boys are believed to have gone missing. Additionally, drones have been deployed to enhance the effectiveness of the search, helping to identify potential locations where the child might be.
This tragedy has not only become a personal sorrow for the family but has also sparked significant public concern. Many individuals have expressed a desire to assist in the search, recognizing that every minute counts in such situations. Local residents have come together to support the families of the missing children and provide them with moral support during this difficult time.
It is important to note that such incidents are unfortunately not uncommon in Ukraine. Recently, another distressing incident occurred in the Lviv region, where eight children were hospitalized due to poisoning at a kindergarten. These events highlight the critical importance of child safety and the necessity for constant supervision, especially during the summer holidays when children have more freedom and opportunities to play outside.
The situation regarding the search for four-year-old Dmytro remains tense. The police are urging anyone with any information about the missing child to contact the hotline. Everyone is hoping for a swift and positive resolution to this tragedy.
