The First Episode of the Series on Interacting with Former Prisoners Released on Diya.Education Platform

The long-awaited release of the first episode of a new educational series focusing on interactions with individuals who have experienced captivity has taken place on the Diya.Education platform. This initiative, highlighted by Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska, is deemed crucial for society.

The Diya.Education platform has officially launched the first episode of a much-anticipated educational series that centers on the theme of engaging with individuals who have endured captivity. This significant development was announced by Ukraine's First Lady, Olena Zelenska, via her Telegram channel, where she emphasized the importance of this project for the community.

In her announcement, Zelenska pointed out that the inaugural episode is titled "Do No Harm: Support After Release from Captivity" and is part of the initiative "How Are You?" This episode delves into the myths and realities surrounding the experience of captivity while providing recommendations on how to avoid stigmatizing those who have returned from such traumatic situations. According to the First Lady, the series serves as a practical guide designed to assist those around individuals who have faced this distressing experience, ensuring they do not inflict further pain.

"The experience of captivity does not end at the moment of release; it is a complex process of returning to oneself and society. For support to be genuinely helpful, it is crucial to understand the psychological states that may arise in both military personnel and civilians upon their return," Zelenska remarked. She highlighted that the series comprises ten episodes that thoroughly explain what a person feels during captivity and after returning home.

This educational project aims not only to raise public awareness about the challenges faced by those released from captivity but also to offer practical advice on how to support their families. Olena Zelenska stressed the importance of understanding the emotional and psychological experiences that may emerge in individuals after undergoing such traumatic events.

Diya.Education, a platform that regularly produces educational series, collaborates with various partners to create relevant content. The topics covered on this platform span a wide range, including mental health, safety, digital technologies, media literacy, community organization development, and gender equality. These series are intended to enhance awareness and provide access to vital information for all Ukrainians.

The first episode of the series "Do No Harm: Support After Release from Captivity" is now available for viewing on the Diya.Education platform. Olena Zelenska has urged all interested parties to join in watching and supporting this important initiative, as understanding the experience of captivity and providing assistance to those in need is a collective responsibility for the entire society.
