Ukrainian Paratroopers Liberate 11 Settlements in the Oleksandrivka Direction

In a recent interview, Major General Oleg Apostol, Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, revealed significant successes of Ukrainian troops in the Oleksandrivka direction, with paratroopers liberating 11 settlements, two more than previously announced.

In a recent interview, Major General Oleg Apostol, the Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a Hero of Ukraine, disclosed remarkable achievements by Ukrainian military forces in the Oleksandrivka direction. According to Apostol, Ukrainian paratroopers have successfully liberated 11 settlements, which is two more than what had been previously reported.

“We have liberated not nine, but 11 settlements in the Oleksandrivka direction. We did not announce this earlier to avoid putting people in danger. This was achieved through the silence and secrecy of the operation. The same was true for the operations in Kursk and Dobropillya. The enemy did not understand where we would strike. As they say, happiness loves silence,” Major General Apostol stated.

The commander emphasized that the successes of the Ukrainian military were made possible because the enemy misleads its leadership. The infiltration tactics employed by the adversary may yield certain results but do not operate effectively at the operational-strategic level. “When the Air Assault Forces units engage, they simply crush the enemy, as he may be deeply entrenched but lacks any support,” he added.

Apostol also highlighted that the command structure within the Air Assault Forces is fully established and operational. This ensures effective interaction, yielding positive results on the battlefield. “The servicemen are well-trained; they trust their unit commanders, who are confident in their actions. Each unit performs its duties without being distracted by anything else,” he emphasized.

The commander noted that there is complete support from the Supreme Commander and the General Staff, particularly in adjusting actions and providing assistance. “Currently, in the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy is counterattacking. Everything there is covered by 'birds' – both ours and theirs. If we see that we have hit certain frontlines, we will make changes very thoughtfully and wisely. We do not have the right to throw people into the 'furnace' as the enemy does, and we will not,” Apostol remarked.

Major General Apostol also shared insights into the strategy of the Ukrainian military: “When we understand that something is not working, we stop or shift to another direction. This was the case in the Dobropillya direction, where we had success, grinding down the Russian army's naval infantry, but then it changed. Certain measures we planned for the Oleksandrivka direction do not yield immediate success, but if the entire range of actions is executed, there will be results.”

Additionally, General Apostol pointed out that the liberated settlements have turned out to be devastated, as the enemy initially advanced there before the Armed Forces of Ukraine counterattacked. “In the future, they will be uninhabitable. We did not encounter any civilians there at all,” he stressed.

It is worth noting that in the Oleksandrivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have already liberated 480 square kilometers of territory, indicating active actions by Ukrainian military forces in the struggle to regain control over these areas.
