On April 2, a new blood donation campaign titled 'Filling' commenced in the Lviv region, designed to incentivize donors through the provision of free tickets to cultural venues throughout the area. The Lviv Regional Council announced this initiative, emphasizing its significance in supporting the blood donation movement.

As part of this donation marathon, participants will have the opportunity to visit theaters, museums, galleries, philharmonics, and other cultural institutions at no cost. According to the official statement, the campaign will run until May 2 and aims to unite the efforts of medical professionals and the cultural community to promote blood donation while also providing assistance to hospital patients and injured military personnel.

Zachar Milyanyk, a deputy of the Lviv Regional Council, noted that over 40 institutions have joined the initiative, including both private galleries and national theaters and museums. 'Donation is not only a way to save lives but also an opportunity to discover the cultural locations of the region,' he emphasized, highlighting the importance of the cultural aspect of this initiative.

Artash Amizyan, the director of the Lviv Regional Blood Service Center, also stressed the ongoing need for donors, particularly for rare blood types with a negative Rh factor. 'Currently, there are no substitutes for blood, so its reserves are critically important for the treatment and rescue of patients,' added surgeon Hnat Herych, underscoring the urgency of this issue.

Blood can be donated at the Lviv Regional Blood Service Center as well as at the city blood bank, but only by prior appointment. This allows for a more efficient and convenient organization of the donation process for all participants.

The 'Filling' campaign is being implemented in collaboration with the Lviv Regional Council, the regional military administration, the Lviv City Council, medical institutions, and cultural organizations in the region. This reflects the coordinated efforts of various structures to achieve a common goal: supporting blood donation and assisting those in need.

Donor blood is critically necessary for treating injured military personnel, patients with severe illnesses, and victims of traffic accidents. It is important to note that one donor can save the lives of several people, which underscores the significance of this campaign and the overall importance of blood donation.
