Second Russian 'Kinzhal' Warhead Neutralized in Kyiv Region Within a Week
In a troubling development, emergency services in the Kyiv region successfully neutralized a warhead from a Russian Kh-47M2 'Kinzhal' hypersonic missile, marking the second such incident in just one week. This alarming trend raises concerns among local residents about the persistent dangers in the area.
In the Kyiv region, emergency service bomb disposal experts from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) conducted a successful operation to neutralize a warhead from a Russian Kh-47M2 'Kinzhal' hypersonic missile. This incident marks the second occurrence within a week, prompting heightened anxiety among local residents and underscoring the ongoing threats facing the region.
This information was revealed in a statement published on the SES's Telegram channel, as well as through comments made by the service's spokesperson, Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, who spoke to the publication 'Ukrainska Pravda'. He stated, 'Indeed, since the beginning of April, we have already had two such cases in the Kyiv region. We have neutralized two warheads from Russian 'Kinzhal' missiles.'
Khorunzhyi did not specify the exact location of the dangerous finds, explaining that rescuers deliberately refrain from disclosing information about the areas to avoid aiding the occupiers. This highlights the seriousness of the situation and the necessity of maintaining information security.
The bomb disposal experts involved in the operations adhered to all necessary safety measures, which are critically important in such hazardous tasks. The SES also urges residents to remain vigilant and cautious. In the event of encountering suspicious or explosive objects, rescuers advise individuals not to approach them and to immediately call the emergency number '101' for professional assistance.
This situation is not isolated. On April 1 of this year, there was already a report of the neutralization of a Russian 'Kinzhal' warhead in the Kyiv region. At that time, the dangerous find was discovered by a farmer working the land in preparation for spring grain sowing. This incident served as a troubling signal for local residents, as it indicates that dangerous remnants may remain in areas where people conduct their daily lives.
In the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine, security issues have become particularly pressing. The situation regarding the detection and neutralization of hazardous munitions demonstrates that danger can arise at any moment, and it is vital for the community to be prepared for such challenges. The professional activities of the SES in this context are extraordinarily important, as their work saves lives and ensures the safety of citizens.
