Activity of Enemy Sabotage Groups Decreases at the Border with Russia, Enemy Operates with Small Assault Groups - Demchenko

In a recent television broadcast, Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, provided crucial updates regarding the situation at the border with Russia, highlighting a decrease in enemy sabotage group activity.

In a recent television broadcast, Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, shared important information regarding the situation at the border with Russia. According to him, the activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups, which previously operated in border areas, is currently not being recorded. "We do not observe the activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups, specifically along the border of Ukraine with Russia. Their activity has decreased earlier," Demchenko noted, emphasizing that the situation at the border has become more stable.

However, despite the reduction in the activity of sabotage groups, the enemy continues to attempt to exert pressure on Ukrainian positions through other means. Demchenko pointed out that instead of active sabotage group actions, the adversary has begun to employ the tactics of small assault groups. "Instead of the activity of enemy sabotage groups, we now see that the enemy is increasingly using the tactics of small assault groups, trying to probe our defenses and expand the control zone directly along the state border," he explained.

This new enemy tactic is being observed in various sections of the border, particularly in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Demchenko noted that the enemy continues to search for weaknesses in the Ukrainian defense to expand its offensive actions and advance further into Ukrainian territory. "The enemy does not cease its attempts to find a weak link in our defense," he added, highlighting the constant threat posed by the aggressor.

At the same time, there are currently no observed movements of equipment or military buildup from Belarus along the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. The spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service reported that despite the absence of signs of active military buildup, the Ukrainian-Belarusian direction remains potentially threatening. "Defense forces must be ready for any developments in the situation," he stressed, underscoring the importance of preparedness for possible challenges.

Demchenko also pointed out that the rhetoric of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko raises concerns. "This is not the first instance of such rhetoric from Lukashenko, where he claims they do not want war but continue to support a terrorist state, escalating tensions," he said, indicating Minsk's controversial position in the context of the war in Ukraine.

It is worth recalling that on April 1, self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated that his country is preparing for war, as "there can be no peaceful time." These words have raised concerns among Ukrainian military and politicians, who are considering the possibility of escalating tensions along the northern border.

Thus, the situation at the border with Russia and Belarus remains tense, and Ukrainian defense forces continue to monitor developments, ready to respond to any threats.
