Casualties and Injuries Reported in Kherson and Kharkiv Regions Amid Ongoing Attacks

On April 4, 2023, Russia once again launched severe shelling across Ukraine, with the Kherson and Kharkiv regions bearing the brunt of these attacks. As a result of the assaults, at least two civilians lost their lives, and the number of injured individuals surpassed twenty. These events underscore the alarming situation that continues to unfold in areas facing aggression from Russian military forces.

According to information provided by the Kherson Regional Military Administration (OVA), two people were killed in the Kherson region due to the shelling, while 13 others sustained injuries, including one child. These figures highlight the ongoing suffering of the civilian population as the war drags on into its second year.

In addition to the human toll, Russian military actions have caused significant material damage. Authorities reported that the shelling resulted in damage to eight multi-story buildings and 17 private homes. Infrastructure was also impacted, with a store, ambulances, agricultural machinery, and private vehicles destroyed. The situation in Kharkiv is equally concerning. As a result of the shelling in this region, 11 individuals were injured, including a child. According to the Kharkiv OVA, among the injured are men aged 70, 64, and 39, as well as women aged 66 and 95. Particularly vulnerable was an 11-year-old girl who also suffered injuries.

Additionally, in the village of Prud'yanka, which is part of the Derhachi community, a 59-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman were injured. In the area between the villages of Klynova-Novoselivka and Lyutivka in the Zolochiv community, a 51-year-old man and a 70-year-old man sustained injuries. A 72-year-old woman was injured in the village of Shevchenkove. These statistics indicate that the shelling affects not only the youth but also the elderly, who are particularly in need of protection.
