Hospital Damaged in Kherson Region Due to Russian Airstrikes, Patients Evacuated

In a troubling escalation of violence, Russian airstrikes have severely damaged a hospital in Stepanivka, Kherson region, prompting an urgent evacuation of patients requiring special care.

According to information from Ukrinform, the Kherson City Military Administration has reported serious consequences from Russian airstrikes that occurred today in Stepanivka. As a result of the bombardment, a medical facility was affected, housing patients who require specialized care and treatment. The administration noted that the evacuation of patients was urgent and required the mobilization of significant resources.

In a statement released on Telegram, it was emphasized that Russian KAB bombs struck the hospital, forcing medical staff to promptly evacuate patients. This operation involved not only the resources of the hospital itself but also assistance from the Kherson City Military Administration and volunteers from the public organization 'Strong for the Free.'

Patients in need of immediate assistance were picked up by their families. In cases where individuals were alone, they were transported to one of the hospitals in Kherson. This decision was made to ensure the safety and medical care of the affected individuals.

It is important to note that this is not the first instance where medical institutions in the Kherson region have become targets for Russian military forces. As reported by Ukrinform, on April 7, Russian military forces attacked an emergency medical team with a drone in the Dnipro district of Kherson. As a result of this attack, three medical workers were injured. Just one hour prior, two other medics were harmed in the same area due to Russian shelling.

These incidents underscore the perilous situation faced by medical workers and patients in regions affected by military actions. The Kherson City Military Administration continues to work on ensuring the safety of medical institutions and providing necessary assistance to the victims.
