Truck Collides with Passenger Train in Kharkiv Region: Train Driver Injured, Delays Reported

A serious road accident occurred in the Kharkiv region, where a truck collided with a passenger train, resulting in delays for train services in the area and injuries to the train driver.

In the Kharkiv region, near the Kolomak station, a serious road traffic accident took place when a truck collided with a passenger train. This incident has caused delays in train movements heading towards Kharkiv and has led to damage to the locomotive and one of the train's carriages.

According to information provided by representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia, the train driver managed to apply emergency brakes just before the collision, which helped to mitigate the impact. Preliminary reports indicate that there were no injuries among the passengers. However, unfortunately, the train driver sustained injuries and is currently receiving necessary medical assistance.

It is noteworthy that as a result of the collision between the truck and the train, the locomotive suffered significant damage, and one of the carriages was also affected. This has necessitated the rerouting of trains heading towards Kharkiv, which in turn has caused delays in the schedule.

Ukrzaliznytsia has already taken measures to address the situation by preparing reserve carriages for the passengers of train No. 21/22, which is heading towards Lviv. This will help to reduce the inconvenience for travelers who may experience delays due to this emergency situation.

It is important to remember that such incidents are a serious problem for rail transport, and Ukrzaliznytsia is continuously working to improve safety at railway crossings. It is crucial for truck drivers to adhere to traffic regulations and remain vigilant when crossing railway tracks, as this can help prevent similar accidents in the future.

In light of this, we urge all road users to exercise caution and follow the rules to avoid tragedies that could threaten both human lives and the safety of rail transport.
