Seventeen Settlements in Kharkiv Region Attacked by Russian Forces, Two Civilians Injured in a Day
In a recent escalation of hostilities, Russian military forces targeted seventeen settlements in the Kharkiv region, resulting in injuries to two civilians, as reported by local authorities.
According to a report from Ukrinform, Oleg Synegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, detailed the alarming situation in the region through a Facebook post. Over the course of a single day, seventeen settlements came under fire from Russian troops. The attacks highlight the severe risks faced by the local population, with two civilians sustaining injuries during the bombardments.
Specifically, a 40-year-old man was injured in the village of Kachalivka, part of the Krasnokutsk community. In the village of Vysoke, which belongs to the Zolochiv community, a 50-year-old woman was also reported injured. These incidents underscore the ongoing suffering of civilians amid the military actions taking place across Ukraine.
The administration reported that the enemy launched attacks on the Kharkiv region using a variety of weaponry, including five KAB-type cruise missiles, 24 Geran-2 drones, one Molniya drone, four FPV drones, and 37 unidentified drones. This diverse array of offensive tools indicates a significant escalation in the conflict and an increase in the intensity of attacks on the region.
In the Bohodukhiv district, several structures were damaged due to the shelling. In Vysoke, a private house was affected, while a warehouse was destroyed in the village of Kalynove. Additionally, private homes, agricultural buildings, and energy networks suffered destruction in the village of Klynova-Novoselivka. These reports confirm that the attacks not only threaten lives but also have serious repercussions for the region's infrastructure.
In the Kupiansk district, damage was recorded to two private homes, two vehicles, and a building recognized as a local architectural monument in the village of Velykyi Burluk. Furthermore, in the village of Prykolotne, two more private homes and an agricultural structure were damaged. This indicates that the enemy's attacks are not solely directed at military targets but also at civilian infrastructure.
Damage was also reported in the Izium district, where one vehicle was affected in the village of Vasylivka Persha. In the Kharkiv district, four private homes and three vehicles were destroyed in Merefa, along with a warehouse in the village of Cherkaski Tyshky. In the Chuhuiv district, two private homes were damaged in the village of Buhayivka, further emphasizing the extensive destruction wrought by Russian forces.
Meanwhile, the transit evacuation point in Lozova received 238 individuals in just one day. Since the point began operations, a total of 27,227 people have been registered, all of whom were forced to leave their homes due to military actions. This statistic reflects the ongoing tense situation in the region, with many individuals in dire need of assistance and support.
It is worth noting that earlier, Ukrinform reported the destruction of a 19th-century architectural monument—the estate of the Donts-Zakharzhevskys in Velykyi Burluk—by Russian forces. This incident serves as yet another example of how the war not only devastates lives but also obliterates Ukraine's cultural heritage.
