Ukrainian Soldier Olena Rusanova from Rivne Region Killed at the Front, Leaving Behind Three Children
Tragedy struck the Rivne region as Ukrainian soldier Olena Rusanova was killed in action, leaving her three children without a mother. The news was confirmed by the Zdovbytska village council.
Ukrainian soldier Olena Rusanova, who resided in the Rivne region, has tragically lost her life at the front. This heartbreaking news was made public through announcements from the Zdovbytska village council, which highlighted that the woman was a mother of three children who are now left without their mother.
Olena Rusanova was born in 1990 in the Donetsk region, but due to military actions, she became a displaced person. Recently, she had been living in the Zdovbytska community, where, according to local council representatives, she was an active participant in community life and was well-respected among the local residents.
In their address to the community, the village council representatives expressed their deep condolences to the family of the deceased. "The most painful part is that three children are now left without their mother... Her love, care, and strength will forever live in their hearts. We bow our heads in deep sorrow together with her relatives, friends, and comrades. Eternal memory and honor to the Defender of Ukraine," they stated, emphasizing the significance of her contribution to the defense of the country.
The circumstances surrounding Olena Rusanova's death are currently undisclosed, and there is no information regarding the exact date of her passing. This adds to the sorrow felt by her loved ones and the community, as every loss at the front is felt as a personal tragedy.
On April 5, representatives of the Rivne regional state administration also reported on other defenders from the Rivne region who have died while protecting Ukraine. Among them was 24-year-old Vitaliy Mulyk, who was killed on March 30, 2026, and 24-year-old Pavlo Kuzmych, who had been missing since August 2024. Recently, his body was identified and returned to his family for farewell.
