41 Clashes Reported on the Frontline Since Dawn, Most Intense in Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka Directions
As reported by Ukrinform, there have been 41 clashes between Ukrainian forces and Russian invaders on the frontline in Ukraine since the dawn of April 5. This information was disclosed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their official Facebook account, emphasizing that the situation remains tense, particularly in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka directions.
According to the General Staff, Russian troops are actively shelling border settlements in the Sumy region, including Bachiivsk, Iskryskivshchyna, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Volfyne, Rohizne, Korenok, Khodyne, Ryzhivka, and Havrylova Sloboda. These shellings are carried out using artillery, indicating the enemy's intentions to destabilize the situation in the region.
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the adversary launched one attack on the positions of Ukrainian defenders and conducted 34 shellings of settlements and defense positions. Among these shellings was one conducted using a multiple launch rocket system, highlighting the increasing intensity of enemy attacks.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Russian forces also attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian units towards Starytsia, indicating a continued effort by the enemy to advance.
In the Kupiansk direction, the invaders made three attempts to improve their position towards Novoosynove, where one of the clashes is currently ongoing. This suggests that the adversary is not abandoning its attempts to seize new territories.
Meanwhile, in the Lyman and Sloviansk directions, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions, which may indicate certain difficulties in their plans. However, in the Kramatorsk direction, the adversary attacked Ukrainian defenders' positions twice in the area of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, underscoring the persistent threat posed by Russian forces.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian invaders launched 12 attacks near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Kleban-Bik, Pleshchiyivka, Illinivka, Stepaniivka, Novopavlivka, and Sofiivka. Two clashes are ongoing, indicating the intensity of combat operations in this area.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attempted to displace Ukrainian soldiers from their positions 11 times in the areas of Bilitske, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Rivne, Udachne, Muravka, and Filiya. Two clashes are also ongoing, reflecting the enemy's activity in this region.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian troops conducted five assaults in the areas of Sychneve, Krasnohirske, as well as towards Sosnivka, Verbove, and Kalynivske. This further confirms that the enemy is trying to expand its positions.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled four enemy attacks towards Zaliznychne, Olenokostiantynivka, Huliaipole, and Zelenyi. However, the enemy launched airstrikes in the areas of Varvarivka, Tsvitkove, Verkhnia Terza, Huliaipole, Kopaniv, Zaliznychne, Novoselivka, and Dolynka, indicating the use of aviation to support their attacks.
In the Orikhiv direction, despite the enemy not conducting offensive actions, they carried out airstrikes on the settlements of Komyshuvakha and Novoyakovlevka, indicating their intentions to continue applying pressure on Ukrainian forces.
In the Dnipro direction, the Russian army conducted two unsuccessful assault actions towards the Antonivskyi bridge and near the Bilohrudyi island. This once again emphasizes that the enemy is facing difficulties in executing their plans.
In other directions, no significant changes in the situation are currently observed, and no attempts by the enemy to advance have been recorded. This may indicate certain problems in their command or resources.
In conclusion, it is worth noting that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that Ukrainian defense forces, within the operation in the Oleksandrivka direction, regained control over eight settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region and four in the Zaporizhzhia region. This reflects the successes of Ukrainian military forces in countering Russian aggression.
