43 Clashes Reported on the Frontline Since Dawn, Pokrovsk Direction Remains Most Intense
As of 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported 43 attacks by the aggressor on the positions of Ukrainian Defense Forces, highlighting the ongoing active combat operations at the front.
As of 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released operational information indicating that the aggressor has conducted 43 attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. This announcement was made on the official Facebook page of the General Staff, underscoring the continuation of active hostilities along the front lines.
According to the data from the General Staff, artillery shelling continues in border areas, with several settlements in Sumy region, including Iskryskivshchyna, Bachiivsk, Atynske, Stukalivka, Neskuchne, Rohizne, Tovstodubove, Wolfine, Korenyok, Vasylivske, and Khodyne, suffering damage today. Additionally, airstrikes were carried out on Svarkove and Fotovyzh, indicating the aggressor's active presence in this direction.
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the enemy launched one assault on the positions of Ukrainian troops and conducted 38 shellings of settlements and military positions, three of which were executed using multiple launch rocket systems. This highlights the intensity of hostile actions in these regions.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian units four times, particularly in the areas of Synelnykove, Prylipka, and Lyman. In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made two attempts to improve their positions towards the settlements of Novoosynove and Novoplatonivka, indicating their efforts to consolidate their hold on occupied territories.
In the Lyman direction, one engagement with the enemy occurred near Hrekivka, while in the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully halted an enemy advance towards Riznykivka. This demonstrates that the Defense Forces continue to fulfill their tasks despite the challenging situation.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy conducted one attack towards Tykhonivka, while in the Kostiantynivka direction, the invaders launched eight attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiyivka, Illinivka, and Sofiivka. These actions confirm that the enemy is attempting to intensify their operations across various sectors of the front.
The situation remains particularly tense in the Pokrovsk direction, where since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have attempted to displace Ukrainian military personnel from their positions 12 times in the areas of Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Muravka, Filya, as well as towards Bilitske, Novooleksandrivka, and Serhiyivka. Three clashes are ongoing, indicating the aggressor's activity in this region.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy conducted one attack towards Lisne, while in the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled nine enemy attacks towards the settlements of Pryliuky, Dobropillia, Tsvitkove, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, and Varvarivka. Simultaneously, the enemy launched airstrikes in the areas of Lisne, Novoie Polie, Vozdvizhivka, Barvinivka, Shyrokyi, and Charivne, indicating the continuation of aerial assaults on Ukrainian positions.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes on the settlements of Veselyanka and Kushuhum, further indicating the activity of hostile aviation. In the Dnipro direction, the enemy conducted three unsuccessful assault attempts towards the Antonivskyi Bridge, demonstrating their failed attempts to advance.
No significant changes in the situation have been observed in other directions, and no attempts by the enemy to advance have been recorded. This may suggest that Ukrainian forces continue to maintain control over the situation.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck oil depots in temporarily occupied Feodosia and Hvardiyiske (Autonomous Republic of Crimea) during the night of April 8. These actions are part of Ukraine's efforts to disrupt the enemy's logistical routes.
