164 Clashes Occurred on the Frontline Yesterday, Most in the Pokrovsk Direction

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 8:00 AM on Thursday, April 9, there were 164 combat clashes reported on the frontline, indicating a continuation of active hostilities, particularly in the Pokrovsk direction where the highest number of attacks were recorded.

As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on social media, the ongoing conflict remains intense with 164 combat clashes recorded as of 8:00 AM on Thursday, April 9. This statistic highlights the ongoing active combat, especially in the Pokrovsk direction, where the largest number of attacks has been documented.

Throughout the day, Russian forces conducted 75 airstrikes, dropping approximately 250 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy deployed 10 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,625 shelling incidents, 107 of which were conducted using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). These figures indicate the intensity of the bombardments and the use of modern warfare technologies by the Russian army.

Russian airstrikes were recorded in areas such as Lisne, Nova Pole, Vozdvizhivka, Pryluky, Verkhnya Tersa, Lyubitske, Hirkke, Hulyaipilske, Barvinivka, Shyroke, Charivne, Veselyanka, Mykil'ske, and Kushuhum in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as in Svarkove and Fotovyzh in the Sumy region. This suggests that the enemy is attempting to intensify its actions across various segments of the front.

In response to the aggression, Ukrainian defense forces struck seven areas where enemy personnel were concentrated and destroyed one of the Russian artillery pieces. This demonstrates the effectiveness of Ukrainian military actions aimed at halting the enemy's advance.

In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Russian troops carried out one airstrike using a guided bomb and conducted 106 shelling incidents, six of which involved MLRS. Meanwhile, one combat clash was recorded, indicating enemy activity in these regions.

In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy attempted to breach defensive lines, launching seven attacks in the areas of Vovchansky Khutory, Starytsia, Krasne Pershe, Synelnykove, Prylipky, and Lyman. These attempts reflect the continuous efforts of Russian forces to advance.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops attacked eight times towards Petropavlivka, Novoosynove, Kivsharivka, and Novoplatonivka, indicating enemy activity in this sector of the front. In the Lyman direction, the invaders conducted six attacks in the areas of Hrekivka, Zarichne, as well as towards Stavky, Dibrova, Novyi Mir, and Lyman.

In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled five attempts by Russian troops to advance towards Riznykivka, showcasing the effective work of Ukrainian military in countering enemy attacks. In the Kramatorsk direction, the invaders conducted one attack towards Tykhonivka, while in the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy launched 20 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Stepaniivka, Novopavlivka, Pleshchiyivka, Illinivka, and Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian forces thwarted 32 assault actions by the Russian army in the areas of Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Muravka, Hryshyne, Udačne, Filya, as well as towards Bilitske, Novooleksandrivka, Novopidhorodne, and Serhiivka. This indicates that Ukrainian forces are actively resisting the enemy's attempts to seize these territories.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy launched seven attacks towards Lisne, Oleksandrhrad, Novoselivka, and in the area of Novohryhorivka. In the Hulyaipilske direction, 18 Russian attacks occurred towards Pryluky, Dobropillia, Tsvitkove, Zaliznychnyi, Hulyaipilske, Olenokostyantynivka, Varvarivka, as well as in the areas of Myrnyi and Hulyaipol.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions, which may indicate certain difficulties in their plans. In the Dniprovsk direction, Russian troops carried out five assault actions in the areas of the Antonivskyi Bridge and Bilohrudyi Island, indicating the continuation of active operations in these regions.

In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of the formation of offensive groupings of Russian troops have been detected, which may suggest stability in these areas.

According to data from Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, as of April 9, 2026, amount to approximately 1,307,540 personnel. This figure underscores the significant losses the enemy has sustained during the course of the war.
