Two Civilians Killed and Three Injured in Donetsk Region Amid Ongoing Russian Attacks

In the Donetsk region, two civilians lost their lives and three others were injured due to relentless assaults by Russian forces, according to information released by Ukrinform.

In the Donetsk region, two civilians have tragically lost their lives, and three others have sustained injuries as a result of attacks by Russian military forces. This grim news was shared by the head of the regional state administration, Vadim Filashkin, in a post on social media platform Facebook.

Vadim Filashkin reported that these tragic events occurred on April 7. In the localities of Kindrativka and Oleksiyivka-Druzhkivka, two individuals were killed. Furthermore, according to the regional administration head, three more people were injured as a result of shelling in Druzhkivka, Dobropillia, and Zavidokudashiv.

The regional leader emphasized that the total number of casualties from Russian attacks in Donetsk has reached 4,025 dead and 9,278 injured. It is important to note that these figures do not include casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha, where the situation remains critical.

Additionally, as reported by Ukrinform, on April 6, the operations of the Sloviansk Thermal Power Plant in Donetsk were halted due to continuous attacks from Russian forces. This incident serves as yet another testament to the devastating impact of the war on the region's infrastructure and energy security.

Russia's aggression against Ukraine has been ongoing for over a year, with Donetsk being one of the most affected regions suffering from constant shelling. Local residents are forced to live under perilous conditions, and the numerous casualties among the civilian population raise deep concerns.

The regional authorities continue to work on providing assistance to those affected and ensuring the safety of the remaining population. However, despite these efforts, the situation remains tense, with each new day bringing further losses.

The situation in Donetsk is part of the broader context of the war in Ukraine, where millions of people are suffering from the consequences of the armed conflict. It is crucial for the international community to remain engaged and continue supporting the Ukrainian people in their struggle for freedom and independence.
