Traffic Lanes on M-06 Kyiv-Chop Road to be Closed for Repairs Starting April 8

Starting April 8, 2024, traffic lanes on the M-06 Kyiv-Chop road, which connects Kyiv and Zhytomyr, will be gradually closed for essential repairs, as announced by the State Agency for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

Starting April 8, 2024, traffic lanes on the M-06 Kyiv-Chop road, which runs towards Kyiv and Zhytomyr, will be gradually closed. This decision was announced in a statement by the State Agency for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, which was shared on Telegram on Tuesday.

The traffic restrictions will affect a section of the road between km 51+700 and km 52+700, located within the village of Kalynivka in the Kyiv region. The reason for these measures is the ongoing repair work on the overpass located at km 54+863, which is part of the T-10-19 Fenovychy – Borodyanka – Makariv – Byshiv road.

According to information provided by the State Agency, the restrictions will remain in effect until early August 2026. This prolonged closure of traffic lanes may significantly impact transportation flows in the region, prompting drivers to plan their routes in advance.

The agency urges drivers to exercise special caution when passing through this section of the road. Drivers are reminded of the necessity to strictly adhere to the requirements of new road signs and informational panels that will be installed in the repair zone.

This repair project is part of a broader program for the restoration and modernization of infrastructure in Ukraine, which aims to improve road surface conditions and enhance road safety. Repairing overpasses is a crucial element in ensuring smooth and safe transportation, especially on vital highways like the M-06.

It is worth noting that the M-06 Kyiv-Chop road is one of the most important transport arteries in Ukraine, linking the capital with the western regions of the country. It facilitates not only domestic transport but also international freight and passenger transport, making the ongoing repairs in this area extremely relevant.

Given the extended duration of the repair work, drivers should be prepared for potential traffic jams and delays, as well as consider alternative routes to avoid unforeseen situations. The State Agency promises to keep the public informed about the progress of the work and any possible changes in traffic organization in this area.
