The State Customs Service of Ukraine has released impressive financial data for March 2023, revealing that the total contributions to the national budget amounted to ₴79 billion, marking a 37% increase compared to the same month last year.
The State Customs Service of Ukraine has disclosed remarkable financial figures regarding budget contributions for March 2023. The total amount deposited into the state treasury reached ₴79 billion, representing a 37% increase over the figures recorded in March of the previous year. These numbers indicate a positive trend in the area of taxable imports and an activation of foreign economic operations in Ukraine.
In its announcement, the State Customs Service highlighted that comparisons of key economic indicators point to a rise in import volumes. Specifically, the weight of imports increased by 23.4%, while the dollar value of these imports rose by 22.7%. Additionally, the tax burden per kilogram of goods has grown by 4.8%. This reflects an improvement in the efficiency of customs collection and a better economic situation in the country.
Among the primary goods that contributed the most to the budget in March, petroleum products stood out, generating ₴21.1 billion. Passenger cars were the second-largest source of income, contributing ₴5.4 billion. Other significant contributors included electricity, which added ₴2.6 billion, insecticides and herbicides at ₴2.2 billion, as well as natural gas and oil gases, which accounted for ₴1.8 billion.
Furthermore, the budget also received contributions from products containing tobacco, nicotine, and their substitutes, totaling ₴1 billion. Electric telephone apparatus brought in ₴989 million, tractors contributed ₴980 million, and mineral fertilizers added ₴916 million. These figures underscore the diversity of goods that influence the filling of the state budget.
It is noteworthy that in February 2023, the State Customs Service also demonstrated positive results, transferring ₴63.9 billion in customs payments to the budget. This figure exceeds the results of February 2022 by ₴16.2 billion, indicating a stable growth trend in customs revenues in Ukraine.
The results of the customs service's operations in March 2023 are crucial for the country's economy, as they signify a recovery and growth in import operations, which, in turn, could positively impact Ukraine's overall economic condition. The increase in budget revenues allows the government to fund social programs, infrastructure projects, and other vital initiatives.
