Ministry of Education and Serhiy Prytula's Humanitarian Fund Sign Cooperation Agreement
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, led by Oksen Lisovyi, has signed a significant agreement with the Charitable Organization 'Serhiy Prytula's Humanitarian Fund' aimed at supporting the education system amidst the ongoing wartime challenges.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, under the leadership of Oksen Lisovyi, has entered into a crucial agreement with the Charitable Organization 'Serhiy Prytula's Humanitarian Fund'. This memorandum of understanding and cooperation is designed to bolster the education system in Ukraine during the state of war and to address the consequences of the armed aggression by the Russian Federation against the country. The signing of this document comes against a backdrop of numerous challenges facing the education sector, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in this critical situation.
Oksen Lisovyi, the Minister of Education, emphasized that education is an integral part of Ukraine's resilience and future. 'Today, education is a part of our resilience and future. We face pinpoint challenges daily that require swift solutions. The public sector often possesses the flexibility and speed that the state lacks in certain situations. Therefore, our task is to unite these capabilities and act together where it yields the quickest results for education,' the minister's press service quoted him as saying.
As part of this memorandum, the collaboration between the Ministry of Education and the Humanitarian Fund will focus on developing educational projects, supporting educational institutions, and coordinating efforts with partners and other charitable organizations. This initiative will ensure more effective support for educational institutions affected by the war and will facilitate the implementation of new educational initiatives.
Marina Petrychenko, the head of Serhiy Prytula's Humanitarian Fund, highlighted the importance of this agreement, noting that since 2022, the fund has already supported about 70 educational institutions, allocating over 40 million hryvnias for these needs. This demonstrates the fund's active involvement in the education sector, particularly in wartime conditions when many institutions urgently require assistance for recovery and development.
This memorandum represents another step towards strengthening cooperation between government institutions and the public sector. It is noteworthy that in June 2025, the Ministry of Education had already signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Charitable Fund established by writer and public figure Serhiy Zhadan, which was also aimed at developing extracurricular education and cultural development for participants in the educational process. This indicates that there is an active initiative in Ukraine to support education and culture, even amidst challenging circumstances.
In the context of war, when educational institutions face numerous difficulties, such collaboration is extremely important. It not only ensures that children continue their education but also supports teachers and educational institutions striving to adapt to new realities. We hope that the signing of this memorandum will serve as a catalyst for new initiatives that will help Ukrainian education endure and develop during these challenging times.
