Metro Construction in Vynogradar: Closure of European Union Avenue Extended Until December

The Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) has officially declared the extension of the closure of European Union Avenue in the capital city. This decision is a direct result of the active construction phase of the new section of the Syrets-Pechersk metro line, which is being developed towards the Vynogradar residential area. According to information provided by the KCSA, the restrictions on the section from Vasyl Poryk Avenue to Freedom Avenue, which was previously scheduled to end on April 5, 2026, will now continue until December 1, 2026.

The announcement highlights that the changes in the work schedule are due to complex engineering challenges being addressed at the site. Specifically, ongoing work involves the construction of tunnels and the preparation of infrastructure for future metro stations.
