McDonald's Opens Tenth Restaurant in Odesa
On October 24, 2023, McDonald's Ukraine Ltd. celebrated the grand opening of its tenth restaurant in Odesa, marking a significant milestone in the fast-food chain's expansion in the country.
The new McDonald's restaurant is located at European Square, 1, and is the 126th McDonald's outlet operating across Ukraine. This information was confirmed by the company's press service, which communicated with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
The newly established restaurant occupies approximately 500 square meters, situated on the first and basement floors of the building. Notably, all work related to the establishment's setup was conducted without compromising the authenticity of the structure, with a particular focus on preserving the architectural heritage. The company also invested in improving the technical condition of the building and enhancing the environment for its residents, including restoration work on the facade, waterproofing of the foundations, and replacement of water supply, sewage, and heating systems. Additionally, the internal courtyard of the building has been upgraded with new paving tiles, enhancing comfort for the residents.
The opening of the new establishment in Odesa represents a crucial step for the company, as it has created 70 new jobs. Guests at the restaurant can place their orders from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, utilizing self-service terminals in the dining area or taking advantage of the 'Mobile Ordering' service through a dedicated application.
According to new regulations, during air raid alerts, the restaurant temporarily halts operations to allow employees and visitors to move to the nearest shelter. Importantly, employees receive their full salaries regardless of the time spent in the shelter during their shifts when the establishment is not operational.
The first McDonald's restaurant in Ukraine opened on May 24, 1997, in Kyiv. Since then, the company has significantly expanded its presence in the country, providing employment for nearly 11,000 Ukrainians. As of today, McDonald's operates a total of 140 restaurants, with 126 actively serving customers in 42 populated areas.
According to data from the analytical system Opentadata, McDonald's in Ukraine generated revenue of 21.3 billion UAH in 2025, which is 26.6% higher than the same period last year. The company's net profit also increased by 21.3%, reaching 1.567 billion UAH. In 2025, McDonald's paid 3.5 billion UAH in taxes to the budget.
The owner of McDonald's Ukraine Ltd. is MCD Europe Limited, which holds 100% of the shares and is registered in London, United Kingdom.
