Former striker for the football clubs Volyn and Zaporizhzhia Metallurg, Nigerian Michael Alozie, shared his memories of his time spent in Ukraine and discussed his current life in the United States. An intriguing interview with the footballer was published on the Football 24 portal.

Michael Alozie, a former striker for Ukrainian football clubs Volyn and Zaporizhzhia Metallurg, has opened up about his fond memories of living in Ukraine and his new life in the United States. Currently residing in Houston, Texas, Alozie continues his football career as a coach, having established his own football academy that trains around 70 children. 'I’m doing well, thank you. I’m still in football, working as a coach. More specifically, I have my own football academy. We have about 70 kids training with us. I’ve been here in Houston, Texas, for four years now,' Alozie shared about his new life.

The Nigerian footballer emphasized that Ukraine holds a special place in his heart. 'My daughter was born there, and that’s where I spent the best years of my career. Ukraine made me a man; it made me who I am today. I arrived there as a child. So, in my memories, there’s only positivity,' he confessed while reminiscing about his time in Ukraine.

Furthermore, Alozie expressed his concern regarding the ongoing situation in Ukraine, noting that he closely follows the war between Russia and Ukraine. 'Daily. I have a strong connection with Ukraine: family, many friends, and property. I’m aware of all the events,' he added, highlighting the significance of his ties to the country where he spent a substantial part of his career.

Michael Alozie played for Volyn Lutsk from 2005 to 2008, during which he participated in 83 matches and scored 30 goals. After that, he transferred to Zaporizhzhia Metallurg, where he played from 2008 to 2010, appearing in 57 matches and netting 10 goals. Additionally, Alozie had another Ukrainian club stint with Sevastopol from 2011 to 2014, where he played 25 matches and scored 1 goal. The last club in Alozie's career was the Slovakian team Sereď.

It is worth noting that it was previously reported that a Bosnian footballer decided to represent the Ukrainian national team, indicating a growing interest among foreign players in Ukrainian football and the national squad.
