Mother of Mukachevo Court Judge Becomes Owner of Luxury Apartment in Kyiv
Hanna Ivanitska, the mother of Ruslan Ivanitsky, a judge at the Mukachevo City District Court, has acquired a luxury apartment in one of Kyiv's most prestigious residential complexes, sparking public outrage and interest.
Hanna Ivanitska, the mother of Ruslan Ivanitsky, a judge at the Mukachevo City District Court, has become the owner of a luxury apartment in one of Kyiv's most prestigious residential complexes, which has ignited public outrage and interest. According to an investigation by hromadske, the apartment in question is a 104-square-meter unit located in the Signature residential complex in the Pechersk district, purchased by the Ivanitsky family in November 2023.
Journalists report that at the time of purchase, an apartment of this size in that complex was valued at approximately $600,000. However, officially, Hanna Ivanitska paid only 3.6 million hryvnias, which amounts to less than $1,000 per square meter. This discrepancy has raised numerous questions regarding the legality and transparency of the financing of this transaction.
Realtor Oleksiy Hnuchyk commented on the situation, stating, "This is an impossible price. Even if we are not talking about a specific residential complex, but just about the street. Mechnikova Street is one of the most expensive in Ukraine, due to its developed infrastructure. In the old fund, the price in 2023 was 1,500–2,000 dollars per square meter, even under poor conditions. In the specific Signature complex at that time, the price was 2,500–3,000 dollars."
According to the investigation, from 1998 to 2024, Hanna Ivanitska officially earned less than 12 million hryvnias. This indicates that to buy an apartment in the Signature complex at real market prices, the woman would not have had enough of her officially earned funds over 26 years. The Public Council of Integrity conducted an analysis of the woman's income this year, after her son Ruslan Ivanitsky began an interview with the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine regarding his compliance with the position he holds.
Roman Verbovsky, a lawyer at the Anti-Corruption Center, commented to hromadske, stating, "Here we need to check their legal expenses and legal income. If, for example, this property, valued at more than 9 million, exceeds the amount of their legal income, then there may be responsibility for illegal enrichment. And if the amount is less than these 9 million, then a civil lawsuit can be filed for the confiscation of this property in accordance with civil procedure."
Journalists also noted that the Ivanitsky family owns over 30 real estate properties, including a hotel, a restaurant, and valuable land plots. This information raises additional questions about the family's sources of income and their financial transparency.
The situation surrounding Hanna Ivanitska's purchase of the apartment has sparked widespread resonance in society, as it calls into question the ethics and legality of the actions of representatives of the judiciary. The public is awaiting further investigations and potential legal consequences for the Ivanitsky family.
