Maternova Welcomes Adoption of New Euro-Integration Laws: Eagerly Awaiting New Initiatives from the Rada

The European Union Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarína Maternova, joyfully reacted to the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of a package of laws that are critically important for Ukraine's European integration. She highlighted the significance of these legislative initiatives in her statement published on social media platform X.

Maternova stated, "I welcome today's vote by the Verkhovna Rada on important laws regarding Ukraine's integration with the EU. The law on the enforcement and digitalization of judicial decisions, as well as the integration of the energy market, will allow for significant funding from the Ukraine Facility! I eagerly await new legislative initiatives from the Rada." These words reflect the EU's positive approach towards reforms in Ukraine and its readiness to support the country in its aspirations.

On Tuesday, April 7, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted two key laws. The first law pertains to the digitalization of enforcement proceedings under number 14005, while the second concerns integration into the EU energy market under number 12087-d. These legislative acts are important steps towards fulfilling Ukraine's commitments to the European Union.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko also commented on the adoption of these laws, emphasizing that they are critically important for the continuation of funding under the Ukraine Facility program. This funding is essential for implementing reforms and supporting Ukraine's economic development amid the ongoing war and challenging economic situation.

Additionally, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in its first reading another draft law under number 14412, which concerns the principles of delineation and distribution of powers among levels of public governance. Upon final adoption of this draft law, Ukraine will be able to receive an additional 440 million euros, which will be a significant contribution to financing state programs and projects.

These legislative initiatives are part of a broader strategy for Ukraine's European integration, which involves adapting national legislation to EU standards.
