Logistics Center of 'Simi' and 'Simi23' in Lutsk Damaged by Shelling
The logistics center of 'Clever Stores', which plays a crucial role in supplying the supermarket chains 'Simi' and 'Simi23', suffered significant damage due to an enemy airstrike on the city of Lutsk on Wednesday. This incident marks the second time the center's warehouses have come under fire.
The logistics center of 'Clever Stores' LLC, which is vital for the logistics of the supermarket chains 'Simi' and 'Simi23', has sustained considerable damage following a hostile air attack on the city of Lutsk that occurred on Wednesday. The company confirmed this information in its official statement on social media platform Facebook, noting that this is the second instance in which the warehouses of the logistics center have been targeted.
According to the company's statement, approximately 75% of the warehouse infrastructure was damaged or destroyed as a result of the shelling. A fire ignited by the impact engulfed an area of over 21,000 square meters of the warehouse and led to the collapse of the ceiling. This has dealt a serious blow to the company, as a significant portion of its resources has been annihilated.
Specifically, the fresh and frozen storage facilities covering more than 12,000 square meters were completely destroyed, along with inventory and specialized refrigeration equipment. The dry storage and equipment warehouse, which spans 9,000 square meters, also suffered substantial damage. These losses could significantly impact the company's operations and its ability to supply stores with necessary goods.
In its statement, the company indicated that despite these circumstances, all 'Simi' and 'Simi23' retail outlets continue to operate as usual. However, there may be temporary disruptions in the availability of certain products in stores, which could cause some inconvenience for consumers. The company is actively working on restoring stable product supply and logistics infrastructure, coordinating its actions with partners and suppliers.
This incident is not the first for 'Clever Stores' warehouses, as they previously experienced damage from Russian shelling in 2025. This underscores the ongoing threat that businesses face amid the continuing war in Ukraine.
The 'Simi' and 'Simi23' chains comprise over 400 stores located in the Volyn, Rivne, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Khmelnytsky regions. This indicates that the company has a significant influence on the retail market in these areas.
According to data from the analytical system YouControl, the main owners of 'Clever Stores' LLC are Dmytro Merchanko (42%), Serhiy Kikin (22%), Tetiana Dovhan (22%), Oleg Merchanko (11.76%), and 'Lutskursservice' LLC (2.24%). This reflects the diversity of the company’s shareholder structure and the potential for varying management approaches during times of crisis.
In 2025, 'Clever Stores' LLC demonstrated a revenue growth of 53.8%, reaching 7.9 billion hryvnias. However, despite these positive financial indicators, the company incurred a net loss of 140.6 million hryvnias, which is a stark contrast to the profit of 38.7 million hryvnias earned in the previous year. This highlights the complexities of conducting business amid war and economic instability.
