Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill Temporarily Suspends Operations After Latest Enemy Attack on Friday

The Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill (Kyiv KPС) located in Obukhiv, Kyiv region, has announced a temporary suspension of its operations following a strike during an enemy attack that occurred on Friday, April 3, 2026.

The Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill (Kyiv КПК), situated in Obukhiv, Kyiv region, has officially declared a temporary halt to its operations after sustaining damage from an enemy attack on Friday, April 3, 2026. This information was published on the mill's official website.

In the statement, the mill noted, "On April 3, 2026, the Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill was again struck as a result of an enemy attack. For safety reasons and to eliminate the consequences, the production process at the plant's facilities has been temporarily suspended." This decision was made to ensure the safety of employees and to address the aftermath of the attack.

The Kyiv КПК emphasizes that the enterprise specializes in the production of consumer goods for the civilian population and has no connection to military infrastructure, defense complex facilities, or military orders. "An attack on such facilities is an assault on the civilian industry and the provision of basic household needs for ordinary Ukrainians," the statement from the mill reads.

The mill also pointed out that the forced suspension of operations could significantly threaten the stable supply of goods that are used daily in thousands of Ukrainian households. "In particular, this concerns the uninterrupted production of recognizable paper products such as the classic 'Obukhiv 65', the 'Divo' product line, other sanitary and hygienic products from our range, and corrugated packaging," the mill emphasized in its message.

The management of the Kyiv КПК stresses that the safety of the team remains an undisputed priority. Currently, the relevant services of the enterprise are continuously monitoring the situation to ensure the highest level of protection for all employees.

The Kyiv КПК expresses hope that the mill will be able to return to full operation in the near future. This is important not only for ensuring supply stability but also for supporting the economy in wartime conditions.

It is worth noting that this is not the first attack on the Kyiv КПК. Previously, on March 14, 2026, the mill had already suffered a large-scale missile attack from the enemy, which resulted in damage to industrial and administrative buildings, production facilities, and engineering communications.

The Kyiv КПК is the main enterprise of the namesake group of companies and one of the largest producers of cardboard and paper products in Europe. The enterprise employs over 2,500 people and has capacities that include cardboard production of 240,000 tons per year, a corrugated packaging plant with a capacity of 355 million square meters, as well as the production of base paper and finished products amounting to 70,000 tons of base paper annually.

According to information, in 2025, the mill increased its production volume by 5% compared to 2024, reaching a figure of 8.4 billion hryvnias. It is important to note that the mill is 100% owned by the Austrian company Pulp Mill Holding GMBH, whose ultimate beneficiary is Heinz Zinner.
